I have been using an eyeshadow from JI for just over a month now and wanted to post my thoughts about it. I have converted to organic and mineral makeup for about 3 years and am now slowly starting to incorporate mineral eyeshadows into the mix. I have countless eyeshadows and felt bad about throwing them all out so I promised myself that if I found a new great mineral eyeshadow, I would finally start to discard some of the old ones that have been sitting around for ages collecting dust while I build up a new colour collection once again.
So let me get to the point...I LOVE this eyeshadow. I was skeptical about trying it at first as I often heard that mineral eyeshadow left the eyelids oily or that it caked into the lid crease after a short while or that the colour faded. Tried a Burt's Bees Cream eyeshadow once and it still sits in my case never to be used again as it was so terrible. Also tried a Lavera eyeshadow and it just melted off within 2 hours leaving me with the shiny greasy lid look, and where the colour disappeared to, God only knows. But WOW this JI eyeshadow is great!!!! Even after a full day, it still looks great - no caking, no oily residue, no change in colour. Just absolitely perfect. The application is easy and wonderful. It blends well on the lid with other colours and leaves a great long lasting finish. I never thought I could be so impressed about an eyeshadow of all things, but it really does merit some praise. Right now I have the "Khaki Craze" triple shadow but I will soon begin to add more of this fabulous product to my makeup collection. I'm so glad I found EDS and this forum as they have helped introduce me to Jane Iredale. So a big thanks goes out to all of you. |

I just want to agree completely about JI eyeshadows - they are amazing. Stay in place all day and are very true to their colours making chosing on-line easier. They are SOooooo easy to apply compared to other mineral make up lines also. |

Have either of you used Dr. Hauschka eyeshadow? If so, could you say how the JI shadows compare? (I love Dr. H shadows, but the selection is pretty limited.) What I like about the Dr. H shadows is that they go on so smoothly and last really well, and it sounds as though the JI shadows meet those criteria. I've been frustrated by some other natural shadows. (Like Aveda, which looked great in the customizable carrying case, but made me look like a business-suit-wearing showgirl.) ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Thanks for the review! I too have loved Dr. Hauschka eyeshadows, primarily because the ingredients are so yummy but I was getting burned out on the hohum neutral shades. Looks like this line as some shades with a little more POP! ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Yes, I've used Dr H eyeshadows also but much prefer JI. Both go on easily enough and I find stay in place but JI are much truer to colour and are just that bit easier to use.....and of course the range is so much wider so suit every taste and mood! |

I can't rave enough about these eyeshadows! I really love their trios because you have a whole look in one compact. I especially love "Cloud Nine" and "Pink Bliss." They really bring out my blue/green eyes! |

No, but they do look tempting. In general, when I've used liquid eyeshadows they creased horribly, but they were clinique and drug store ones, so maybe this will actually work? I guess I love the powder so much I don't really need the liquids. |

sister sweets, I have blue/green eyes and I guess generally I'd suggest browns, but I've also had luck with pinks and purples. For Pinks, try the "Pink Bliss" trio or "Heather" duo. I also love Ecru-Cappuccino as a duo in brown and "Brown Sugar" in the trio. For purples, try "Cloud Nine" trio. I generally use the trios because then you have your brow bone, lid and crease color and with a very small brush wet or dry, you have an eyeliner...all in one kit! |

I love all my JI makeup so far and was thinking about switching all my eyeshadows to JI too! How do they compare with the MAC eyeshadows? |

What is the best silver or grey JI eyeshadow (if there is one)? I've been searching various brands for silvers and greys since January and have only found duds. It's hard to tell online, but JI grey eyeshadows look blue or purple to me.
Also, is it true that EDS won't be selling JI anymore? |

Jeanine,
The gray eyeshadow is a purpley gray. They also have a trio called "Cloud Nine" which has purples and gray in it. I think it's a great set of colors, but if you're looking for a pure gray with no other tinges, then that's probably not it.
HTH! |
