I'd like to start using my Thayer's Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner as a mist, both as a toner and to set my MMU. My problem is, none of the spray bottles I have give a fine enough mist to use to set makeup.
I have various drugstore plastic bottles, nothing fancy. But they can all leave me with droplets big enough to run down my face sometimes.
Can anyone suggest a spray bottle you've purchased that gives a very fine mist? I don't care if it's plastic, glass or metal.
Thanks! |

Unfortunately, the best mists I've found have always been aerosol bottles. You can't refill those though.
All the other ones, because of the method of dispersion, have always resulted in larger droplets.
Though I think the bottles that my I Feel Pretty sprays come in are nice...I don't know where Kim orders them from though.
I'm sure they'd be fairly inexpensive...or the ones that Candy uses are good too. (Might be from the same place even!) |

For a fine mist, look to the kitchen gadgets. The oil mister that you have to pump to build up the vacuum really gives a fine mist. I think it will work with your toner too. A little larger than your average toner spray bottle, but it'll do the job you want. |

Hi persephone,
Have you tried holding the spray bottle further away from your face?
I have a couple of misters [glass bottle inside aluminum holder ... refillable] ... but if you hold them too close to your face, that "mist" turns into "wet".
To get the best "mist" I hold mine about 12" from my face ... and spritz two or three times.
Just a thought ...

Genie's idea sounds good re: oil mister. I might add that a plant mister would prob give a fine mist too. Now you got me thinkin".... |

At a nearby health food store I bought a plastic spray bottle of rosewater by Homehealth for five dollars. It sprays a very fine mist. I just refill it with purified water. |

have you tried:
Evian (spritz)
Avene (also in aerosal can, spritz)
both are really good for setting makeup and I think the avene one somehow soothes the skin too.
I'm using the MAC Fix+ which is a makeup spritz, it's adds a glow and is slightly more moisturising to be used after applying makeup. It gets rid of any cakiness/powdery looking issue. |

second vote for Avene mister. Pity it's not refillable |

yeah i think that's why i stopped using avene...they do come in larger sized cans but i seem to use it up relatively quickly, which worked out kinda expensive for just some mineral water |

I love Jane Iredales D2O hydration spray.
When it runs out, I refill it with water until I can get a new one. The mist is very fine and feels really nice. |

I second this.
just put your potion in there, pump and spray.
a word of caution, tho - if you use the "misto" bottle, (in my case, with body oil)
watch out for the black paint stuff that goes around the top (where "misto" is). my oils loosened the paint, and fingers/hand can come away black from contact with this.
i intend to get as much of it off as i can - but for now, I just covered it up.
these work very nicely.
this would work too, but i see they're only sold in bulk:

Good thought, Mary. I probably am too close and am getting more of a spray than a mist. Do you know where I can get an aluminum bottle with a glass insert like the one you mentioned? |
