What other actives might help the efficacy of Vitamin C?
I have been using Vit C potency of 23% (cream)-25% (serum which I keep in the fridge) for about 3 years of course, don't notice the effect it had when I fist started it. I'd like to kick-start its effects by using other products which might help absorb and process it better.
Can anyone help, TIA. |

there has been a period of time when i used vitamin c serum before a vitamin e cream. and the improvement on my skin was stunning. super fast result, i saw pigmentation fade away in 2 weeks. if i remembered correctly, my skin texture had improved too.
the vitamin e cream i used was just a cheap drug store brand, called sebamed, cos back then my skin was so sensitive i couldnt use anything without turning into a tomato. and it turned out to be surprising good. |

Hi Shimmie
I'm not sure if you're asking about products or DIY. If it's DIY you might want to pick up some Dimethyl Isosorbide, which is used as a penetration enhancer in Skinceuticals CE&F and Candy's Triple C. There's a thread over in DIY about it, but you can get it here
http://www.bulkactives.com/dimethylisosobide.htm
You might also want to add 1% Vit E to your cream/serum this enhances the anti-oxidant activity multifold. You could also add Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, the latest C ester (there are tests showing good resuts of this used alongside L-Ascorbic).
You can buy both of these fromwww.bulkactives.com and if you look up the ingredients you will find associated studies. |
