 I am almost ashamed to ask this as to most it will seem pretty DOH.. but are the Cargo Beach Blushes meant to be applied with a brush or fingertips/sponge?
The reason I ask is that they seem quite a creamy powder and if using a brush it is difficult to pick up much of the outside lighter colors when sweeping it across... maybe my brush was too big... (been scratching my head all day about this)
I caved and got the Miami one during the Sephora sale and love the color, but it has been so long since I used blush now I am wondering which way it should be applied... 
I spent about $300 on make-up in December and have been enjoying having a paint-a-thon today. My co-worker even asked me if I had a "hot date" tonight since I looked so good. |

Tiger_tim, I'm glad you posted this! I got a Cargo Beach Blush as a gift with purchase (thank you EDS!), but haven't yet broken into it. Never occurred to me that it would be applied with anything but a brush...but now I'm curious! I hope someone replies!

| yes, well the reason I started wondering was partly because of my problem picking up all 4 colors, but also because when I first got it I just HAD to open it and ran my (clean) finger over the surface adn was surprized how creamy the powder was, which made me think maybe a sponge? have you tried the YSL blush that comes with its own self-applicator sponge? I saw it at the duty free shop at Xmas and was intrigued. It really gave a lovely light application too! |

I haven't tried the YSL blush, but it sounds great! Do you by chance remember the exact product name? I tried searching YSL blushes online but I'm not sure I found the one you're talking about. Is it a liquid, or another creamy-type powder like the Cargo?

Jeez, all I do is swish across with my bronzer blush & buff it in and it's works...although I do find it a tad shimmery. I also got it from EDS
DD just looked over my shoulder wondering 'who says tad anymore?' I feel so old. |

I use "tad" all the time and I don't consider myself old (mid-twenties)
Anyway, I think you can use a sponge if you want more pigment on your skin. Using a brush will give you a lighter, sheerer application. This is true for nearly all powder products, no matter the texture. |

Well, I just purchased a set of unconventional sized measuring spoons that are used to measure very small amounts of things (1/4 tsp. and less!). I'm going to use them to custom mix up my MMU colors ... the measurements are:
* Drop - 1/64 teaspoon
* Smidgen - 1/32 teaspoon
* Pinch - 1/16 teaspoon
* Dash - 1/8 teaspoon
* Tad - 1/4 teaspoon
They are stainless steel and the amounts are stamped into the handles ... "drop, smidgen, pinch, dash, and tad" ... so let DD know that if you can find a product these days that has tad actually stamped on it, then you are not old for using that word! |

These spoons sound so cute! I say "tad" and "smidgen" all the time too. I asked for a Beachblush as a GWP, but it was in the order that went missing  . You guys are making me really want it now! I did get a couple of really cute Cargo eyeshadows instead in the replacement parcel though and the texture of these sounds very similar - I've been sweeping them on with a small soft brush for a light shimmer. |

somehow, as I started to read that sentence I expected it to go "..more flowery when I'm drinking...." 
but perhaps that is because I just came home from a fabulous Italian dinner where we scoffed a week's pay worth of food and unusual wines. hic |

Oh, you should hear what comes out of my mouth after a couple of glasses of vino (esp. the homemade stuff!)
You have to understand, we're a multiligual family. More often that not, we're spouting Greek/Italian/English/French at each other...usually in the same sentence! So it's pretty funny when I suddenly spring my best victorian English at them..as DD puts it: "You're talking snotty again"!
I'm going to hit her with 'antimacassar' as soon as she comes home from school and see what she makes of it |

| Have you guys tried the Cargo blush? It is wonderful. Very sheer and not too shiny, but not too matte. I don't know if the consistency differs form the beach blush, but the powder is very soft and cream and applies like a dream. I'd love to try the beach blush - which colours did you get? |

Is the BeachBlush a strong colour or is it sheer like the original blush? I am looking for a pinky colour so I thought the Cable Beach looked pretty. What sort of shade is the Coral Beach? is it orangy or peachy?
Have you tried the SuedeBlush as well - that looks quite funky?

I'm not Mary, obviously, but I have a Beach Blush in Cable Beach and it is very pigmented, just like the regular Cargo blushes. |

Hi Piz!
The Coral Beach Blush only Cargo blush I've ever tried, so I can't really compare it to the original. I think the Coral Beach is more peachy, so maybe the Cable Beach would be a better bet for you if you want something more pinky.

I think I may try the Cable Beach blush on my next order - I need to recover from the one I have just made. I got the Cargo PlantLove Botanical lipstick in Evangeline (Coral) - which is just devine - sheer and yet just enough colour and such a good price at EDS compared to the UK! If you are a lippy girl, this is heavenly.

I did not think that the cargo blush was over pigmented, however, I do just use a whisper of colour as I am very fair.
Have you tried the suede blush? I am undecided as to which would be better; maybe I had better just get both!
Also a point to Mary on the PlantLove Botanical Lipstick (Evangeline) - it looks very orange in the tube, but I have very blue toned lips so the colour comes out more pinky on me so if you have a more peachy or light toned lip it may be quite orangey - just thought I better say.

Piz, thanks for the heads up on the possible "orangey" look. I did check out the PlantLove lipstick on EDS, and there really are tons of lovely shades to choose from! So...even if Evangeline doesn't work for me, I will definitely try some of the others (gotta love that EDS discount!)!

I agree with you about the discount, Mary, although I have to post a bit more to get more!
I hope you enjoy the PlantLove lipsticks, I was very impressed with the texture and longevity, and I own most top end brands, like Chanel, Guerlain, Nars, Paul and Joe, Christian Dior, Yves St Larent, Laura Mercier, Chantecaille, Mac.... I could go on and on, but I won't bore you. So I hope you like the Cargo one.
