Hi everyone,
I'm in my mid-20s and over the past several months my skin has suddenly become very dry. It was like - bam! when I looked in the mirror one day. Suddenly my makeup looks very cakey and my forehead looks "crepey" almost. This is really upsetting me because I don't tan, drink or smoke and take very very good care of my skin. The only thing I've been slacking with is drinking water but I've started that again - and I wear foundation everyday...however I do moisturise 2x a day and use Eve Lom/Clarisonic to remove it at night.
Anyway, I would greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a fantastic, rich moisturiser that will really plump and revive my skin! Also I am searching for a foundation which will moisturise my skin whilst providing medium-fullish coverage. I'm willing to pay quite a bit but not astronomical prices.
Also do any of you ladies have any experience with hormones causing these issues? I think that mine have been quite jumpy over the last year.
Thank you all xx |

I go through this faze and I use retinol that doesn't help. I was told that it isn't ideal to moisturize, but when you do have dry skin, you must use some moisturizer, but continue with retinol and other exfoliators.
I suggest you use a gentle physical scrub and apply AHA lotion. If you skin become delicate due to severe dryness, just use plain moisturizer so your skin can heal.
I just thought of something....maybe your cleanser is too strong. Clarisonic does a deep clean and people don't realize that perhaps the cleanser is too strong and the brush head they are using may be too harsh. Also, maybe you should not use the Clarionic daily or not more than once a day. I like to switch between lux and delicate brush and decide which one to use depending how my skin is that day. |

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I was shocked! My skin was actually peeling around the mouth and jaw. I tried a few lotions but they burned and stung so badly...I was miserable! But I tried a tube of cocoa butter (that I bought at the dollar store) and applied it every morning and night, and it worked. Now my skin only gets dry that badly a couple of times a month. Don't know what the cause was...but I was 45 probably related. |
