This is a new moisturiser from Decleor which I was lucky enough to get some samples of. Decleor say it "immediately offers dull skin a much needed moisture surge and ensures luminosity with enhancing pearly particles, to reflect the light and further enhance your complexion."
I have used it a couple of times now and while I cannot comment on the long term effects, my immediate impressions are very good. I have normal to combo skin and normally steer clear of anything claiming to have light reflective/diffusing/enhancing particles for fear of looking like a greasy mess. I didn't need to worry - this is a lovely light moisturiser and not in the slightest bit sparkly.
I have previously been a true devotee of Decleor's Hydra Floral Cream, and the SA advised me that this would not be as hydrating as that. While it certainly is far lighter ( it's more similar to the Hydra Floral Emulsion in texture), when I used it after the Aromessence Neroli I felt sufficiently hydrated and my skin feels beautiful.
It's the most perfect base for makeup - my skin feels like silk and has a dewiness and a clarity to it that I have not seen with other moisturisers. I like it so much that I am going to buy the salon size off ebay!
I think this would be an ideal product for anyone with normal to oily skin to consider, apparently if you are dry you can follow it with another moisturiser. It smells lovely, a bit like orange sherbert and I can't wait to get stuck into a full size. I will try to update once I have been using it for a few months to see if there are any long term effects.
Anyone pondering this product - give it a go! |

Thanks fidget-jones , I have been wondering what this product will be like & you have summed it up really well. I'm actually interested in trying the whole new "Source D'Eclat" range, seeing as my skin is looking quite dull lately. |

Hi Safire
Just been reading a review of Hydra Floral Cream and noticed you're also a fan of that.
I've had a few more days with this moisturiser now and I think I'm actually getting withdrawal symptoms from my beloved Hydra Floral.
Don't get me wrong - this Source D'Eclat stuff is lovely in every way, and while I do not have dry skin at this time of year, I quite like to feel as if I have put moisturiser on.
When I use H.F. a few hours later my skin still feels plumped up and lovely (if a bit shiny in the T zone). I don't really get that with source d'eclat. I'm not sure that's a bad thing - because I don't have to touch up with powder as much.
There's just something really comforting about the smell and texture of hydra floral cream, and I'm thinking I might be leaning towards purchasing that next time, and perhaps the Source D'Eclat at a later date. It's a lovely cream but not sure I love it enough for it to be my main moisturiser.
Sorry, i've probably confused you even more - get a sample if you can, and you might see what I mean!
Best wishes

Thanks so much for the update FJ!, yes I am a big fan of Decleor skincare one reason being because I love the gorgeous, calming scents of the products! I will definitely try & get a sample of the Source D'Eclat. |

I saw this on qvc uk, when they were describing it the first thing i thought was that it reminded me of clarins beauty flash balm. I think it is more to be used for the light reflective properties then the moisturising properties. The decleor therapist on qvc uk said if you suffer from dry skin then you can very easily apply your aromessence, then your moisturiser (ie hydra floral) and then apply this moisturiser over the top as a base to your make up. This would be way too much for my skin but others could easily do it. |

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to update my findings on this moisturiser as I've been using it since my last review.
I took the plunge and bought the 50ml size, and I have been using it every morning. At night I use the Ylang Ylang night balm.
I'm thrilled to bits with it! In my earlier review I said I was concerned about its moisturising properties, but I had no need to worry. My skin is looking better and better - glowing, dewy, and clear. It looks INCREDIBLE under my bare escentuals MMU and I have had so many compliments on my skin.
This is not so much an equivalent of flash balm (Decleor has Instant de Beaute for that) as it is intended to be used as your regular moisturiser (but you can layer if you have dry skin). I have used flash balm in the past and the two products are very different. Personally I haven't needed extra moisturiser over the top and my skin is more normal at the moment.
I'm still using it over neroli which is also fabulous for radiance boosting.
All in all - it's great stuff! |
