I would really love some quick advice from the women on this forum, as it seems so many are very experienced and full of so much knowledge on what works.
I don't have the option to see a professional skin care expert now and when I go into the store like even Whole Foods and look at all the bottles of expensive potions or all the options online, I'm just at a loss and so I keep just not getting anything. It is just so confusing cause there are like hundreds of different products all claiming similair sounding type uses of - anti-aging etc. Even in the same lines some will have 5 different anti-aging products yet when I look at the ingredients I can't figure out what's so special!
Anyways, I don't really care so much about the cleansing, tone and moisturizing/sunscreen stuff, as that seems like it's simple and won't make much a difference at all which lines to use as long as my skin doesn't react to it.
I just want to know what the best actives are for my problems without spending a fortune and without using 10 things layered on my skin. I just want to keep it simple and affordable. I have not been using anything for my skin and it's really damaged now!
I just turned 34 and I am very determined to finally have good skin! My major problems with it:
1) Naso smile folds. More than just being less volume and fat there, the skin seems darker.
2) Also along with that, this dark reddish discoloration extends to the sides of my nose. This is something I've had forever it seems. I have close ups of me when I was 17 and they were there. It's just this discoloration around the outside line of each nostril. Never knew how to rid.
3) Lots of blotchy discoloration and uneven tone all over my face from the sun, and from blemishes
4) Large pores and rough texture
5) Undereye circles - though this is mostly from paper thin skin, so anything that might thicken the skin could help. On my right eye I actually see 3 viens. I can also see the tiny red veins on my eye lids, that's how thin the skin is! I see veins on my temples too! : (
6) Starting to notice some fine lines around my eyes and about 5 horizontal forehead lines.
These are the biggest issues, of course I'd also love to get rid of my beauty marks and get fuller lips, yet I doubt I can achieve it!
So to tackle all these problems with hopefully using the least amount of different products and all over the counter stuff, what should I look for? It doesn't all that matter if they are organic as long as they are free of junk.
I mean there are - vitamin C, acids, scrubs, skin brightening ingredients, peels, copper peptide products, herbal serums, vitamin A, anti-oxidant serums etc etc.
Then also - dermaroller, facial exercise, LED, microcurrent etc.
Too much to sort through to be able to decide on a routine to at least start with. And depressing too! I hate looking at myself in the mirror close up without any makeup or in natural light. And that doesn't even cover all the depressing issues with my body as well and why I cover my legs at all times and hate to look at myself naked! It'd be ok if I had just one major issue, yet I've got it all! Super thin skin so I see all my viens everywhere through my skin, on my legs, arms, chest etc! Then I have horrible KP all over my legs, white stretch marks on my hips/thighs, cellulite, large scars, etc. There is literally NO way I'd be caught wearing shorts or a dress/skirt, forget a bikini! So yes it's super depressing! And also I'm pretty thin and I have always been praised by people as being beautiful, yet they do not know the horrible details that I cover up with clothing and with concealer etc! I'm so done with this hiding and feeling so ugly and embarrassed about how I look I just want to win this war!
Thanks for any and all help! |

Hello,
Sounds like you are in a pickle,
I need to clarify though, what is exactly your question? What are the best actives to use or are you looking for a recommendation? |
