I've just bought some emu and squalene from Lumiesse and wondered how people used them? Are they designed to be used on their own? before other moisturiser? Night day? Any bad reations? |

Hi Pips,
I spritz my face with toner. Rub a 2-3 drops of oil between the palms of my hands and "pat" all over my face. I will also press my plams lightly into my eye area at night. I don't do this during the day since it makes my eye make-up "slide".
The toner and oil are my last steps before I put on my silk/pearl primer and then Lumiere MMU in the morning or before I go to bed. I think the oil "seals" in everything else I put on. |

Hi, pips -
I don't use squalane, but I do use Ultra emu oil morning and night, as my moisturizer. After all my actives have been applied, I put a few drops in my palm, sometimes add a drop of cranberry oil, rub onto both palms, and pat all over my face and neck. I avoid getting the oils too close to my eye, else I wake up in the morning with crusty stuff.
I then put a big dropper of hyaluronic acid in my palm, and smooth that over the oils. It makes the oils sink right in, and no oily feel is left behind.
Then for daytime, I would follow with sunscreen and MMU. |

After wash my face and then apply toner, I make my face a little wet and then rub two to three drops squalene all over my face. Wait for a minute, then apply mositurizer. |

i can't say anything about the Squalene but i use Emu Oil and Hyaluronic Acid(sp).
Here's how; I drop a blob of HA in my palm about the size of a nickel and then 3 drops of EO on top of that. Then i mix it together really quickly bu rubbing my index finger over it really fast.It sort of turns milky looking with almost a sparkly look to it from the emulsification of the EO.
Then i "load" my finger four times (1 each for each section of my face and neck) and gently rub in until everything sinks in...there's no oily residue and it's a great moisturizer. |

Well, I know that Squalane oil can be harvested from shark liver and that did not appeal to me. I use Squalane (or Sqalene, not sure of the spelling difference) that is derived from olives. I got it from Ice Elements. |
