As you may or may not know, I recieved my first botox injections about one month ago.
I cannot rave enough about the experience. Crows feet have disappeared and horizontal forehead lines are greatly diminished.
Considering the "mucho" amount of money that I have spent on expensive lotions and potions, the Botox is worth it because it ACTUALLY WORKS.
And....now I only need a select few products to moisturize my skin and maintain skin texture. Nothing fancy. |

Can I ask a question from you all? I don't have any lines but my forehead squinches up a lot when I talk - I'm very expressive.  Would Botox help control this so it doesn't squish all the time? Also, what's the average cost, if you don't mind me asking. |

Scally,
I've only had my forehead done once and I was unable to move those muscles. Botox completely paralized them, so much so it felt weird at first. I just had botox done again for the second time about 6 weeks ago (between the brows only) and I must say that I'm alittle disappointed. Even though I went for a touch-up I still have faint lines  <<---I kinda still look like that icon 
I think botox would be great if you want to stop movement on your forehead--I hope I'm making sense. HTH

Thanks so much, Lisa. I'm seriously considering it because although I've been fortunate not to have any lines, the squinching makes me crazy! I've been doing it forever and can't seem to stop (tried). I wonder how many units I would need...I'll have to make some calls.
Ugh, the first place I called charges by the area and it's $275 for the forehead and another $275 for the "11s" but I'm not sure even how much I really need since I don't have any stupid lines yet! My feeling is that I would be royally ripped off there. Off to search some more. |

| Scally, I usually pay 8-10.00 per unit, depending on when I get the special. I only did the forehead once and it was expensive because they did quite a few injections. Now I just do the 11's and that gives a nice little lift for me. The forhead was a bit much because it almost lowered the eyebrows as it relaxed the forhead and i didn't like the look. It would depend on how strong your muscles are there and how many units it would take to relax the 11's to get the results you want. |

| Hmm. I am going to have to research the heck out of this, it seems. Everywhere I've called so far does it by area and I'm not liking the option at all. I guess to determine the best route, I will have to see someone but I wish there was a recommendation I could find. Oh well, more searching. |

I have a few questions about this topic for you all. First, does anyone have a pre and post botox picture to share?
Also, my sister did botox, but she said it felt weird to her because when she laughed, she couldn't move her eyes, so it looked like she was not laughing sincerely. Makes sense? How do you feel when you laugh?
Does it last longer than 3 months for you? My mom and sis said it lasted them 3 months.
Any side effects you noticed? |

Yes, to me the injector is EVERYTHING. I have had bad results before and ended up looking like an angry cat. She came back and fixed it but I never went back to her for botox.
I don't have any trouble with any expressions feeling weird. I have just enough put in to relax the lines, not over paralyze. People tell me I look rested or happy and have no idea what I've done, nor do I want them to. If my hubby mentions I've had botox I want to freeze him with the look, but I just can't do it as strongly as I once could! (That's the downside.)
It lasts anywhere from 6 months to almost a year for me if I don't use the Quasar on that area. I find that now since I have been doing this about 4-5 years or so, it takes a lot less and lasts a lot longer. I've retrained that muscle so it's not as big of a deal.
Scally-good luck in finding someone and it may take a trial time to find out if you need more or less next time. My hubby had it done in the 11's but he had such a powerful muscle there it took more. He has not gone back just because he doesn't have the time and really doesn't care like I do about his 11's. |

| AnnieR, what is the scoop on using the Quasar SP or BQ on areas that have had Botox? Does it make it absorb faster? I seem to recall a conversation you'd had with James about this. |

When I called James before I had it done, he said that it would be fine to use it there, it would even help with reduction of swelling in the injection sites. It did alright, along with the resty and botox. That cost me about 600.00 and I called James back and let him know what happened. At that point I was so mad I figured they should have given me a free baby Q for my trouble since he told me to do it, but oh well I am over it now. I have since figured out that if you wait until the botox really takes after several weeks, you can use it lightly over those areas with no problems. I just don't think I would risk it at that cost to see if it happens again.  |

I agree, Botox is "liquid gold" . I have had it done three times now. I get it on my 11's, my crow's feet, my bunny lines, and on the muscles under the corners of my mouth where my lower lip has started to droop. The results are amazing!
To get all of these areas injected takes 75 units. The person who does it is a friend of mine, so she only charges me $5.00 per unit (her cost) instead of the usual $11.00 per unit. But this is still rather costly ($375!), as it only lasts me about 3 months .
The strange thing about the Botox is that it seems to wear off overnight. One day it's working, then the next morning I wake up and look in the mirror and want to scream. All of a sudden I look 10 years older! There's no warning--it just seems to disappear in my sleep. Strange, huh? Then I want to run, not walk, to the Botox "bullion depository".
Every time I have it done, I decide it's too expensive and I can live without it (and I'm even getting a bargain rate! ), but when it wears off, I hate the way I look and can't wait to get more. Honestly, it takes about 10 years off my face! So . . . for now, I'm hooked on it. Maybe Botox is the "Holy Grail" I've been looking for all of these years!! |

| Seeking-HG, glad you posted your experience. I guess I am having 2nd thoughts about doing botox if the result will wear off so abruptly. I had that experience with lash extension - beautiful one day and ugly the next. Ouch! I will try to find something else to give me a more gradual correction that can stay with me longer and doesn't disappear overnight. Thank you! |

That's the problem! I wish it were permanent! But IMHO the results are astounding! Nothing out of a bottle or tube could possibly replicate these results! I'll tell you one thing, if you try Botox, you'll be hooked on it 
Hey, maybe we should all buy Allergan stock! With Botox, Tazorac, Prevage MD, and now Juvederm, they're going to be HUGE some day!! |
