I just made my first lipgloss today, but it didn't turn out to be very glossy, at least not the way commercial lipgloss is.
It is more like a liquid lip balm. It feels great on my lips, but I would like it to be more glossy.
I used almond oil, castor oil, shea butter, beeswax and honey (didn't bother to measure any of it, so I'm not sure about percentages).
Any advice on which oils, butters or other additives I might use to achieve more shine?
TIA! |

You can try using Versagel ME with some Shea oil. I have not tired this but I have this recipe on file.
VERSAGEL ME 80%
SHEA OIL 18%
CRODAMOL STS 2%
Here is some more info..
cosmetic formulator has this with recipes as well as garden of wisdom carries it perhaps other suppliers e.g. the herbarie etc too.. I rarely visit here so it won't let me give the links.
Less natural ingredients to give glossy formulas would be a mineral oil- petroleum jelly mix with Castor oil etc. |
