Hi, first post here....and i actually have something id like answered, if thats at all possible
Ok, so for years now, right on my bicep and towards the back of my arm, ive had this reddish kind of a "rash area". It doesnt cause me any pain or irritation, its just red, and little bumps are there. Any idea on what this is and how to get rid of it? Thank you in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum
Sounds pretty generic really but it could (and I emphasise the word COULD) be a patch of tiny little ingrown hairs. I get these on the back of my thighs when I don't exfoliate religiously enough. And yes, if you don't exfoliate then these things can stick around for AGES! So the question is, have you tried to exfoliate the area on a regular basis?
Mind you, based on that description it could be many other things I'm sure. I'd mention it to your doctor next time you're visiting.

A lot of people have this condition on their upper arms, including myself. My own have pretty much gone-away, but were most noticable when I was a kid. I exfoliate well when I bathe, so I think that this may have helped the area. I just use one of those mesh bath/shower puffs, and whatever soap I've bought at the drugstore. You can cringe all you want, but I like Zest soap. Smells good, and it doesn't leave soap scum on my tub. Hey! Maybe this is why I don't have bumps: no soap scum residue left on my skin either!
Try using the MD Formulations Body Wash; it contains glycolic acid, which will help speed-up exfoliation. |
