Hello! Was introduced to Obagi at my medical spa. Did some research on EDS prior to starting...which helped me tremendously! I knew what questions to ask...and what to really expect when I started using it. FYI...I am 43, have very fair skin, some dark spots from sun damage (lots of sun damage I saw when they used a machine to analyze my skin!) I'm in week 2...have had quite a bit of redness (I'm also treating my neck and decollatage...so it was all red...which just looked like I'd gotten some sun). I started peeling...but using a washcloth helps a lot w/that...I take one to work just in case I get real peely in the afternoon...happened once. I asked about hydroquonone (HQ) and the cancer concern. What I was told is that the FDA is considering making all OTC products that contain it prescription products. (OTC generally have .5, 1% HQ...Obagi has 4%). The problem is that HQ makes your skin very susceptible to sunburn...and if you don't use a good sunscreen all the time...it definitely raises your risk. Obagi is (or should be) medically supervised by trained professionals, who did discuss the importance of sunscreen and stressed that I use it every day...and apply again in the afternoon if needed. The Dr. also told me I could use a little hydrocortisone if the itching was bad (it has been a bit on my neck). I am LOVING what I'm seeing! The blackheads on my nose are gone! My sunspots are fading a bit...and I'm only in week 2! I was concerned about the expense at first, but realized I was spending similar amounts on Murad...and am willing to pay for products that work! (Murad was giving me lots of whiteheads...and not doing much for anything else). Will keep you all posted, and thanks SO MUCH for the advice I found prior to purchasing and starting the routine. Big Hugs, and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you with little (or big) ones! |

Sure!
I'm using the entire Obagi Nu-derm line. It seemed like a lot of stuff to do at first, but I just do them one after another...and dry my hair, brush my teeth, etc... as I go.
In the morning I use:
- Gentle cleanser (it's a gel, not the foam)
- Toner
- Exfoderm (they also have exfoderm forte but it's a bit to strong for me, as I have sensitive skin.
- Sunfader
- Healthy skin sunscreen spf 35 (think that's the name...definitely spf 35)
In the evening I use:
- Gentle cleanser
- Toner
- Clear
- Blender (Week 1&2...I mixed Retin A with it 3xweek, I'm just starting week 3...going up to 4x a week, in week 5 I'll go up to 5x a week, and so on...)
Hope this helps! Happy to answer any other questions you might have. |

I have been using Obagi for more than 2 years.
And I love it!!
I tried many brands of skincare before, and now decided to stick to it!! |
