Hi, as it's heating up here in Philly, I'm thinking I need a body powder to help absorb my excess perspiration. I want something that is good for my body as I've heard that products containing talc are not. I'm interested in hearing feedback on all types - but probably will only buy something that's "reasonably" priced as it's something I'll probably use a lot of.
Thanks! |

I have been trying to find Burt Bee's Dusting Powder for ages and I think it sounds like it would be a good body powder. It's meant for babies, BUT I THINK I remember Manslayerliz ravingabout this product and how it was also useful to use to absorb any oils in your hair (Manslayerliz ... correct me if I'm wrong! ). And it's talc free. |

Thanks for the info, Moonstarr. I see we are both lunar.
I see info on it at Burt's Bee website:
http://www.burtsbees.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10751&storeId=10101&productId=10155&langId=-1&categoryId=&showSubCategory=yes
Dusting Powder (99.63% natural) $6 U.S.
WHY IT WORKS: 100% talc free - it’s mostly powdered herbs and flowers. Our dusting powder makes a baby smell like a baby should. Cornstarch, buttermilk and slippery elm bark absorb wetness and relieve chafing and prickly heat. For baby’s bottom, nothing tops it.
HOW IT WORKS: Smooth the powder liberally onto baby's skin, especially on the diaper area. Re-apply as often as needed to absorb dampness.
CORN STARCH - Highly absorbent product derived from the corn plant. Absorbs both moisture and oils. Produces a soft, soothing feeling in face masques. An ingredient added to cremes and lotions to help the product spread on the skin more easily.
Ingredients:
Cornstarch, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), kaolin (French pink clay), bentonite (natural clay), powdered rosebuds, powdered myrrh, powdered slippery elm bark, fragrance.

Hmmm ... I've actually never checked. I think there is a Burt Bees website for Canada. However, with drugstore.com, I don't usually like to order from the U.S. if I don't have to, so I don't end up with custom charges, etc. Plus sometimes it takes so long to get a package. |

OOoOo ... I'm so excited! I just checked the Burt's Bees (you know, I've always thought it was Burt Bee's, not Burt's Bees), anyway ... I can order directly from their Canadian site. Yay!

I'm definitely going to place an order. Has anyone else ordered from this site? |

Moonstarr you have a good memory--- I've definitely raved up and down these boards about BB Dusting Powder--- it is SO fabulous! The smell is wonderful, the ingredients are incredible ( I mean come on, powdered rosebuds??), and not only that, it seems like the scent is heat-activated because when I put it in my under-arms as deodorant back-up, when I get hot and sweaty it seems to "kick in" and make me smell really nice. Love it! If anyone in Canada has a hard time finding it just let me know, I'd be glad to do a CP. |

Walgreens and Johnson&Johnson both have some quite decent baby powder without talc. I tried both and they're really nice, but a bit too much perfume in there for my liking. Otherwise, the INCIs are good and they're really cheap. You can get a big bottle, too, which will last all summer.
Pricey but super: Dr. Hauschka's silk powder for the body. Leaves you silky smooth and with a nice, natural smell! |

Sorry, Minimunny, what do you mean by INCIs? - is that the Walgreens and Johnson & Johnson you referred to in the previous sentence or something else? I don't know all the shortcuts/anocronyms... |

Doesn't gold bond have a weird smell? I could be mistaken as I do not remember it being in a green bottle. |

Oops, sorry, it's short for International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, in Europe the ingredients have to be stated on the package in a certain way so everybody can find out what's in there. Sorry again, I didn't want to be mysterious . Oh, and I meant the Products are cheap, not the ingredients! |
