| my skin feels so smooth & soft, but just didn't go well with the mineral foundation. my face looked awful in the noon time, my cousin thought I didn't sleep well the night before, just not make the foundation longlasting. |

 YIKES Blueberry! That's too bad....I'm not surprised though, that it didn't work well with the mineral foundation (that's powder,right?)....my experience with it has been outstanding - but I am using a liquid foundation....If there are any liquid foundations you like - give it a try with that...and see what you think...(but from what I've heard on this forum, those who "go mineral" never go back!  )
If it just doesn't work for you partnered with a foundation, you can just use it alone over your treatment cream to help further protect your skin (from what I understand it has green tea, vit A and E...)

| I've not tried it with BE mineral make up but I wouldn't be surprised that it didn't apply well. The primer because of it's texture probably binds with the powder, in fact if I use anything on my skin that leaves it tacky I don't use mineral make up as it will *stick* I've used the primer with Mac trickstick and Lancome foundations and have good results. |

I can't wear Smashbox. Both my daughter and I broke out terribly from the primer and other products in their line.  |

oh...no, I got a big pimple, could it be the cause???
I tried the primer foundation before with liquid foundation, it was wonderful. But since I switched to Jane Iredale mineral foundation, I don't like the liquid anymore.
Anyone tried MAC color base? I was thinking to buy it, but than I took the Smashbox :( |

Cle de Peau - many ppl likes it, but not me, didn't keep my makeup lasts longer
shiseido Benefiance wrinle erasing serum spf18 - to hide fine lines & wrinkles, I think the coverage is good, it's colorless, like a cream, but gives you a better tone (whiter, to cover redness). |

I used to use Smashbox’s oil control primer, but – like you – found it didn’t work very well under my Bare Minerals foundation. It sorta made my makeup look...I don’t know...splotchy? Clumpy? All I know was it was just plain weird!

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly makes a primer a primer? Is there a specific ingredient (or set of) that they have? I'm asking because I have the YSL Complexion Enhancer and I'm wondering if that classifies as a primer or if it's something else alltogether...  |

Gotchya! So we're talking about things that fill in pores and lines. I think the Complexion Enhancer is different to that - it's still very good though!

| I also think that a primer is a product used which facilitates the application of your makeup, i.e.: makes it go on smoother, doesn't settle in fine lines or pores. Have you ever applied your foundation (any kind, mineral or traditional), and it sorta drags when you try to smooth it out? Or it clumps in certain places? Primers are supposed to prevent that. Of course, having only used primers that are supposed to be 'mattifying' (which, mostly, is a joke!) or oil-controlling, I can't speak to whether or not products marketed as true 'primers' really do what they claim or not.... |

| The only primers that I've found to be any use (for me) are the ones that are silicone-based. They really help to increase the slip of my liquid foundation and concealer - I guess cuz it sits on the skin -- and my foundation sits with it!!. I find it beneficial to my cheek area (helps to hide pores) and around my eyes before concealer...it really changes the way my concealer goes on -- and helps to keep the eye area from caking and looking crepey and dried out (without irritating or puffing it up) which I LOVE!...I can't imagine using it under a powdered mineral or pressed powder makeup....as a matter of fact I only use a dusting of loose powder to set my makeup....no compact stuff..it just wouldn't work. I've mentioned the Smashbox primer on this forum before (I'll shut up about that one!)....another fave of mine is the one from Cat Cosmetics...It's a great price and works really well, too (if you want the silicone stuff!) |
