You can go for an oxygen facial right before your wedding. Oxygen facials give the skin a plumped look temporarily. I don't think they're great long tern, but for a special occasion you'll look really pretty.

Mu suggestion, a multi vitiamn as suggested. Not Centrium, or One A Day, those are CRUD! They are coated with the same products that asphalt is made up of. All synthetic products inside as well. Your body digests it, before it's benefits absorb in your body. I suggest a GNC or Brand purchased from a health food store. Stay away from store bought brands.

I take One a Day but I have been looking for a good quality multivitamin for a long time. Could please recommend some names of multivitamins that are considered good quality.

That isn't very specific or helpful, is it? Ask your Dr. of Oriental Medicine to give you more info about your condition/s and then you'll have a better understanding of what is necessary to remedy it. For instance, there are multiple reasons why you may be experiencing this - your doctor should tell you which one/s:
Dry Mouth and Lips
http://www.heavenearthcmhc.com/disharmonies.html?disharmony_ID=186
Excess Thirst
http://www.heavenearthcmhc.com/disharmonies.html?disharmony_ID=286

The biocell collagen II with hyaluronic acid may help; also an essential fatty acid supplement (I like Total EFA by Health from the Sun).

BTW, I agree that the oxygen facial (O2 Intraceutical Rejuvenation Infusion treatment) is nice. I've had one and the effects lasted quite a few weeks.

ritas - carrot juice makes your complexion glow? I was wondering why people drink carrot juice or take the supplements....this guy in front of me at Costco today bought three big jugs of 100% organic carrot juice. I was thinking "Eek! why would he ever want to drink that!"

Congrats masaholly! If I was getting married soon, I would get some polishing facials. Nothing too extreme. I wouldn't even want to peel. Just enough heavy creams and polishing to make my skin glow. I also would drink lots of water, take vitamins, and eat only fresh food here on out.

The most effective multivitamin I have ever used is Swisse Ultivited for women. They also come in a gluten free version. Try these. They give you energy and are essential for women.

I'll second lots of water and hydrating facials or oxygen facials.

All supplements and vegetables rich in beta carotene will make your skin glow if you take sufficient amounts. Such supplements are carrot juice powder, spirulina algae, chlorella algae, barley grass, wheat grass. Extreme amounts of beta carotene can give your skin an orange hue, so moderation is a key word.

Supplements with lycopene can give skin a rosy glow. Lycopene is the carotenoid that gives tomatoes their red colour. Both beta carotene and lycopene get deposited in our body fat and the pigments will shine through skin surface. In addition, these agents work as internal sunscreens, so these are great supplements to be taking during Summer.

PS. Congratulations to the bride!

hi Jf,
yes carrot juice does make complexion glow. I guess it is because it has vitamin A in it.
The one that is available in costco is really good. its organic with no artificial flavor.I dont know what exactly in carrot juice but it did help me with blemishes and acne to some extent ...long time back when I religiously used to drink carrot juice daily for 2 months.

Hello! I take New Chapter vitamins and they are great - Because it’s food and not chemical isolates, you get the benefits of a whole-food complex of vitamins, minerals and herbs that contain all of the plant’s active, natural biochemistries...the website iswww.newchapter.com

Good day! I take the Every Woman, which are good for ladies under 40. The Every Woman II is for ladies 40+.
Recommended dosage is 3tabs per day. My friend really likes this brand as she can take them on an empty stomach and they do not upset her tummy (or make her feel nauseated!)

The company also has an EveryWoman One daily which means taking one tablet per day...this formula is a little lower on the B vitamin amounts.

I got onto this brand based on recomendations from my friend whom is a retired pharmacist...she now runs a health food store and said these were the best she has seen. And also said stay away from Centrium etc.! Her clients also like the Lorna Vanderhaeghe line she carries(a brand out of Canada), but overall the preference is for New Chapter as they are cultured food.

One last thought, New Chapter also makes a pre-natal vitamin too, so if you are in need of that, the appropriate type of suppliment its available! Expectant mothers are typically advised to be careful re: regular formula vitamins as they often have too high a vitamin A level.

All that carrot juice was probably in a clear plastic container and likely pasteurized... Confused so he's not probably not getting exactly what he's paying for. Making it fresh and drinking it right away is the best way to go.

If you don't already perhaps consider learning some deep breathing relaxation techniques, often the body is starved for oxygen because of our stressful lives we breathe too shallowly and it shows up on the skin. I've also heard thinking and acting with kindness creates a beauty from within. Congrats!
