I know many ppl are going to scold me for saying this but I just don't get the raves for this. I ordered this brush along with their samples in high hopes for it cuz of all the great reviews.
I must admit that their customer service is good. They replied u within the same day. I got my package within 2 business days to Canada which is awesome.
Anyways, as much as I like their superior service, I just can't find myself to fall in love with their brush. OK back to my experience this morning... I was so excited that I woke up early cuz I can't wait to try out this brush. I cleansed & exfoliated my face thoroughly. Then I moisturized my face well. Here comes the disappointing part, I used the brush to pick up some of the foundation and brushed it onto my face. The brush is too dense and seems to be sucking at my face. It also accentuates any flakes that I have on my face. I just can't seem to achieve that flawless even finish that everyone's talking about. Also, I don't know if it's just me or wat but the brush seems too big to cover every aspect of my nose and it really accentuates my pores there too.
As for the foundation itself, it seems a bit more matte. I guess if I can find the right shade, it should be an alright foundation.
Overall, I'm not really impressed with this brush. I seem to be getting good results with my Suncat baby kabuki brush by just dabbing on foundation rather than buffing it in. Oh well, now I don't know what I should do with my newly bought brush... ![Sad](images/smiles/sad.gif) |

Aww that's a shame Stardusty. I think my Alima #25 brushes (yes, I bought 2!) are coming soon. They said they've already shipped it but I've yet to receive it.
I have to say that the blush brush that I'm using now isnt all that either. It doesnt shed or anything but when I got it, its not really that soft and a few bristles were curly!
Also, whilst at first I seem to love the foundation, as you said, its getting a bit too matte and powdery. |

I don't know if I have a new or old version of the brush, but I love it for applying pressed powder. |

Oops, I may have confused you slightly. I only bought two of them cos I wanted to bulk up my order for free shipping and I have their Buff Brush, which is just SO soft. I use it for applying foundation (I only wear a light layer of MMU), blush and shimmer powder! I hoped that the 25 would be as soft and versatile as the buff brush, but after reading your review, I'm kinda regretting buying two! The brushes are on its way but I cant wear make up for the next couple of days or even weeks due to a skin allergy/rash on my face!
I hope someone can help you find the best way to use the brush though. I think appletini has the old and new #25, so maybe you could PM her. |

Hi, new to the forum. This is my favorite brush in the world to apply foundation. I also have a BE brush and Sephora but they are not stiff enough for me. |

Hi there
How did you wash the brush? Just soap and water?
Thanks |

I called the co and they said I probably used too hot of water which could have compromised the silicone bristles. She said to use warm water and soap to wash the brush. |

I dodn't know much about the alima brush, but if you're looking for a great, inexpensive brush to apply MMU, I'd suggest the flat top brush from Everyday Minerals. So very soft, and gives a flawless finish. and, it's only $10. It hasn't shed a hair since I've been usingit either, which is two ro three weeks. |

I have both the old and new version of the brushes and they are wonderful. If I had to pick one, I would say I like the new version better as it is easier to wash as it dries faster. However, its a tough call as they both are great.
I wash mine pretty much each time or two after it is used (which is why I have two - one to use while the other is drying) and do so with a mild shampoo and cool water. I have done this for several months now and haven't had a problem, so don't be afraid to wash your brush. It needs to be clean of any oils from your creams or skin in order to apply the minerals properly...I find they streak etc., if I am not using a clean brush. |
