For the past 2 or 3 months my elbows have been peeling. Not just flaky, but small peels of skin coming off like after a sunburn and it's only on the elbows, not anywhere on my arms. I had a derm appt last week for a different reason and showed him my elbows and he said to use one of the salicylic acid gels/lotions that I already have.
Anyone else dealt with this problem and found a good remedy? Could this be a vitamin deficiency? |

| When my arms and elbows are flaky, I'd exfoliate them with a scrub and then moisturize real well. |

| I had a time when my elbows were really flakey and skin literally came off it, but as Lisey said, I used up some of my facial scrubs which I didnt like on my elbows, moisturised then with some lip balm that I dont like, put a layer of it on my elbows. After a couple of days, my elbows were fine. |

Up your water intake. You may want to supplement with essential fatty acids. To this, you might want to take hyaluronic acid (HA) internally (for more info on this, do a search on this forum).
Is the rest of your skin dry? Your skin could be adjusting to a change of season - just like a snake shedding its skin  |

Lunar: my skin is pretty normal, not overly dry anywhere else. I think I'll get some EFAs and HA as you suggest because with this continuous peeling, I have pink skin now which is sometimes a little tender for an elbow - I never realized before how often I lean on them. I also already drink a good amt of water.

| I just started to use the B Kamins foot,elbow, and knee scrub and cream set. For my elbows I first use Ice Elements 2minute miracle then scrub with the B Kamins. I finish with the Kamins cream or any moisturizer I have handy. |
