Hi, Has anyone tried Fake Bake sunless tanner? It says that Madonna and Britney both use it if you can believe anything you read on the net. I am curious to know if it is any good it sounds great when you read their claims.

Thanks

Britney looks likes she's been tangoed so I wouldn't want to look like that!

I've seen it my local salon but not tried it.

I tried it last month before going on vacation and I really liked the results. No one knew it was fake Laughing Even my husband commented on how great I looked with a tan. The only problem was it doesn't last long, my nice tan faded in about a week Sad

Thanks for your response and Laughing at the Britney comment. I might give it a go Sheisha since you tried and liked. Maybe using it more often will help it to last longer.

Thanks Sherri

Sheisha,

How many applications can you get out of one bottle?

I bought my bottle of Fake Bake for around $20 USD and used it two times all over my body (except the face) before going on a beach vacation. It really worked well, giving my very pale skin a natural/healthy looking tan. I have half the bottle left, so if used once a week it would last at least a month depending on how much one used.

So I guess it's kinda expensive if you want to have a nice tan all year long, but for the occasional use it is worth it.

Also, it's very easy to use (you just rub in in and go to bed), but "be warned" it goes on extremly dark. I was a little worried at first that I would end up too dark. However, when I woke up the next morning and took a shower all the dark lotion washed off and I was left with a GREAT tan!

Thanks Sheisha! Sounds VERY similar to the St Tropez lotion. You probably get about 4 applications per bottle, it's scarily dark but when you washe it off in the morning it looks beautiful. I wonder if they stock Fake Bake in Australia. I might look out for it when I finish the St Tropez.

Mabsy: If you leave it on overnight, does it stain your pj's or sheets?... or do you put it on, wait for how long? before getting into bed.

I saw a woman at the Dallas Tradeshow who had a booth selling FakeBake and she looked fabulous! Cool

Brittany Spears:

a) has a tanning bed in her tour bus.
b) has fake boobies.
c) is a whore.
d) is engaged to a "man" who has two children out of wedlock, and has left the mother high n' dry. I say to him, "Clean out Brittany's bank account, because she's a stupid, bleach-blonde, fake, ultra-American Barbie doll, who hasn't the experience, smarts, or intellect to know better." Moron that she is. `Deserves whatever karma & fate have in-store for her.

Eh?

I see someone is not a Britney Spears fan Laughing While she's not on my list of faves, I wouldn't go as far as (c) because I don't know her, and (d) is her own business and should not be in the press in the first place. She's silly if (a) is true, but (b) applies to probably a significant percentage of women anyway.

Judy - It doesn't stain but I do wait at least an hour (probably two actually) before I go to bed after applying it.

Well, maybe there's a difference between BRITNEY Spears (the artist, like-her-or-hate-her) and BRITTANY Spears? Maybe the last one's a ------------ star, with a name COINCIDENTALLY (yeah, right) almost identical to that of the singing starlet?

Laughing I guess I might have just outed that I'm not a Britney fan for no reason then! Embarassed Oh well, I guess it's not that rare Razz

The Brittany version has never made it to my neck of the woods - never heard of her! Either that or I just don't read enough gossipy magazines (or others for that reason Embarassed ). I might just google (for educational purposes only of course! Laughing ) and see what she actually looks like.

Oops Embarassed I Googled "Brittany Spears" (misspelt version), and guess what? I got hits, many with the real Britney, but also to some ------------ star. So I guessed right, although it was meant as a joke from my side.... Rolling Eyes

Laughing I thought you were serious!

I tried to search as well but was rather overwhelmed by posts about (real) Britney so I gave up.

I have Fake Bake Mabsy.

Bought it from Pure Indulgence at Garden City.

Have used it so far once last week & am actually sitting here with the gloves sitting on the desk in front of me about to apply a second coat.

When it comes out of the bottle it looks like..um, well, duck poo! & after applying it I looked like the Incredible Hulk! Embarassed
However in the morning the fantastic shade of green had faded considerably, it did not stain my pyjamas.
I also bought the Skin Smoothie that comes with it as recommended. I had a small patch of darker skin on one of my knees but with the smoothie & a little rubbing it was evened out. Other than that no streaks at all. Smile
I didn't use it on my face tho.. still have some Loreal face stuff from a few months ago so stuck with that - the green shade for the face for some reason was a little off putting.. Embarassed

I'm really not sure about the price. It might have been about $50AUD. Question
I did have a look at couple places via google before buying it tho, both were UK sites, & there really wasn't much difference in price after conversion - which makes a change!
If anyone knows of a cheaper place to buy though, by all means let me know. I really like this one.
Did the 2nd coat the other night is still quite nice - I don't slather it on with a trowel though, its just a nice even coverage & looks natural on my skin - I am quite fair (ok almost fluoro in Winter Embarassed ) with freckled arms & in the normal places where you can get the darker patches the skin smoothie makes it very easy to blend out.
