I used JM for about a year and then switched to RL hoping that it would work better...well unfortunatly it didn't. I would get long full lashes then only to fall out in large quantities....i read that RL and JM sync the lashes and then they fall out together. Some others have had lots of shedding from RL and JM too...but I have been using these products for over a year. I'm really fed up! I have really sparse lashes now! I just had my eyelashes that were pulled from eyelash curler grow back finally now i have my other eye with hardly any....i have a few really long ones, med ones and short ones and gaps....ugh! Should I just lay off all serum's and see what happens....im sure they will grow naturally and go back to the way there were! Do you think my lashes have had it? |

While I have not used either of the serums you mentioned, I would say stop using them if they don't work for you! I would just leave them alone for a few months and see what happens. You can go the way of oral supplements. Some girls say MSM helps their eyelashes grow (I tried MSM but saw no results, so I stopped taking it). I, personally, had more results from taking B group vitamins and vitamin E. My nails never break anymore and my lashes, although not huge, are pretty long. They're healthy, at least.
There's also a DHC product called Eyelash Tonic. It strengthens your lashes so they're less apt to break. It is not a growth serum, though. I used it for awhile but I found I didnt like using a serum on my eyes. Too paranoid of it causing problems with my sight.

I hope the right people will see this thread. If you do not get responses soon, maybe you should start a new thread with the heading "Eyelashes falling out! JM and Revitalash????" or something like that.
I am Using Jm and since it has only been two weeks I have seen zero results.
Maybe you should quit both treatments for now and just use something to nourish them.
I am not much help. Maybe someone else will post |

Hi Momtwin,
Sorry to hear about your lashes but don't worry as I'm sure in time they will come back - just stop using the JM and RL. I wanted longer lashes and started to take suppplement as well as apply emu oil every night - it has worked for me . Process has been slow but worth it. I think other people had also had success with castor oil and vaseline but I have not tried those. Good Luck. Dips |

You should call both companies and seek their advice.
Good Luck |

My lashes used to fall out frequently even before I used Revitalash. Using Ardell during the day has helped with fallout considerably. |

I'm using the Ardell Lash Accelerator and think that my eyelashes have grown longer. I also bought JM but it made my eyes so red and itchy I had to stop using it - total waste of money. I'm sticking with Ardell, plus its so cheap. |

I hope Ardell works for me. I just want a full lashline...longer doesn't matter...thats what mascara and curlers are for! Jan Marini and RL are not good in my opionion! Don't waste your money! |

I think violetanne gave some great advice there about going along the internal nutrition route. That might work better for you.
Also, Keliu's suggestion to try the Ardells might help. I use it in conjunction with Lucia Essence, and it works well for me. (Have never tried any JM, RL, etc.) I think, as well, that these two products are good for conditioning your lashes - and that may be what they need. There's also a recipe for Carekate's Lash Conditioner in the DIY forum, which is supposed to be excellent. |

I'd stop using the serum if I were you. I've been using the JM, the old formula at least, for around 5 months and haven't had any noticeable shedding. So although some shedding is normal from what I gather, yours sounds a bit excessive.
I have been using Ardell the whole time I have been using the JM, and it seems to have made my lashes stronger. Otherwise maybe try the Luica Essence that Majorb is using. I used to use it myself and had good results. They weren't as noticeable as the results I've had from using the JM, but my lashes were in good condition when using the Lucia.
Pippi_Plum, don't be concerned that you haven't seen any results with the JM. Even with the old formula people weren't seeing any results until months of continued use.It took me at least 4 months to see any difference. |

Awwwww thanks Sel It is easier to use now that my eyes have adjusted to it. At first I had some irritation, but now I am fine
I will stick to it
Are your lashes noticably longer?

Momtwin, I think you should just try to nurse your lashes back without using the super growth serum. I remember that you have nice long lashes naturally already, so if they come back on their own as I'm sure they will, just use lash conditioner to nourish them. I don't know about the long-term usage of either RL or JM, so maybe just stop using them would be good for your lids and lashes. |

I'd stop using the serums if I had the excessive sheeding like you. Maybe you should try finding some good eye serums instead. |

Geez momtwin, sorry to hear about your eyelashes! In the June issue of Allure magazine there is a small article on Revitash and the company claims it does help with lash growth. They also say its perfectly safe to use. On the other hand, the company does list all the side effects on their website. Wished you would of known about that before your started with it. |

Well I kept using the Revitlash and Ardell combined after I posted in June and they slowly came back. I think I exagerated a little when i said I hardly had any, but they were sparse but I did see little ones growing behind so I thought I would keep using RL and hope that they would grow fast. Well they did come back, but a few weeks ago they became sparse again...i guess that is the way its gonna be with my lashes. I will have to stick with it. I do have a tiny small gap but little lashes growing were the gap is. Just hoping that I get no more huge lash loss while they fill in. I go through this every time and I should know what to expect now!

oh question for someone...if you know the answer!
If I did stop Revitlash, I already know they will go back to the way they were prior to RL...but since they are sync'd and fall out around the same time...Will they still grow out that way or will it go back to normal again and grow no so sync'd up and fall out normal again?
Thanks, Dawn |

I think so Dawn. Use eyeliner or the tip off your mascara wand to fill in the gaps. I do this and it works wonders. |

Hairs grow in cycles, the cycles aren't the same for every follicle and aren't syncronized. A specific follicles hairs lifespan will differ from hair to hair. So if the serum hasn't messed up the natural course of your hairgrowth (like plucking your eyebrows can mess up the natural course of growth - I don't know what these serums can do, and I doubt anyone does as they haven't been on the market all that long - and I doubt the companies have done the research on long term use) I would safely say that your lashes will return to growing in what is/was their natural cycle of growth.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Well...I know revitalash has messed with my follicle cycle on my lashes, so I'm hoping for the best and hopefully they will return to normal, I'm throwing the dang Revitalash away tonight! I can't take the lash fall outs. I am using ardell on them. I will keep u posted and hopefully they will return to normal growing eyelashes! |
