OPI nail polish rocks!! To stop nail poish from chipping use a top coat then reapply it once a week. They also make a no chip top coat.
I always use red nail polish on my toes and my pedi's last 6-8 weeks by reapply the top coat.

I agree, OPI is great for not chipping, especially on your toes. Most of the manicure/pedicure places by me only carry OPI and Essie polishes. I find that OPI is better, especially for the feet. However, my favorite color (Mademoiselle) is by Essie so I'll usually get that on my fingers and do touch-ups on my own.

Another vote for Opi. Yes, ITA with the 6-8 week pedi, and I dont even apply a top coat! Embarassed

OPI is my favorite brand of nailpolish. Right now, my favorite colors are Russian Navy (beautiful deep blue) and Chick Flick Cherry (the perfect red for paler skin-- it has a touch of blue to it). I have been getting into some Essie colors-- I loved Huckle Buckle for summer (a pretty iridescent purple).

As for no chipping I highly suggest Seche Vite fast dry top coat. This stuff is amazing. My nails stay chip free for well over a week. (I re-do them after a week or so, but I don't have too). I use two coats, but one coat is good too.

Seche Vite! You all need this. Laughing

This is a great thread, I hate it when my manicure chips. I usually use Essie because I like the colors better. Guess it's time for Opi!

Another OPI fan here. I am fortunate that the salon right down the street sells it. With the Seche top coat I have no problem with chipping.

I just got:

-Siberian Nights from the same collection as RN, its a deep blue-purple with no shimmer.
-Big Apple Red for my pale skin, its a super bright, matte, pin up red. So pretty!
-Skinny Dipp'n in Lake Michg'n, a pale neutral pink that has silver flecks, looks great on fingers with one coat.

I almost bought Russian Navy but put it back at the last minute...maybe I'll have to go back today and get it, my Ulta had a buy 2 get 1 free special!

Definitely OPI. I do like a lot of Essie colors, but it's a mixed bag w/ Essie as far as chipping and streaking.

Thanks for the unanimous opinions - I went to Trade Secrets (Canada) and purchased OPI in "My
Daddy's The King" currently 2 for the price of one. Is "Seche Vite" available in Canada and if so where? Very Happy

My favorite OPI color is Lincon Park After Dark. For top coat I like Seche Vite and Essie Good to Go Fast Dry Topcoat

If you're prone to chipping (some of it is probably related to how you use your hands) you should reapply topcoat more often. I really like the Essie for that since it's really thin and dries quickly. Don't forget to seal the nail by painting the edge of your nail (the part that you file)

For an excellent base I suggest using Orly's Bond
Poshe is a fast drying top-coat that rivals Seche Vite and some even prefer it. My pedicure has lasted two weeks without any noticeable change with these products.... I use OPI or Essie color.
