I have an awful habit of biting my cuticles!
They sometimes bleed, and the skin is peeling pretty bad
I have now kicked the habit
but my cuticles are still sore and red,
is there anything I can do to improve, stimulate or speed up the regeneration?
I heard avocado oil is good for cuticles

Hi fergie and welcome! Take a look at the NEEM oil thread. The smell is godawful but it has so many lovely properties it's worth learning how to use it. I don't have the problem with cuticles that you do, but I do make my own cuticle oil and brush it on every night and massage. Avocado oil is certainly hydrating; adding a couple drops of neem oil for healing and anti-fungal in addition to geranium oil for scent should give it a boost quite nicely. |

fergie,
Oh, I know what you mean about those pesky cuticles! In addition to the Neem oil (Dr Hauschka makes one that doesn't smell too bad), I keep my cuticles pushed back with an orangewood stick and Dream Cream (LUSH) to moisturize my hands. I wear gloves obsessively in the winter and when I'm doing housework to avoid drying out my cuticles.
Also, when I take vit B complex, they seem to do better. Good luck! |

I've found emu oil to be great on hands - since I've been using it my nails are so much stronger and don't flake or brake anymore. It softens the cuticles too. |

My current fav hand/nail treatment is Healthy Hoof Intensive Protein Treatment by Gena distributed bywww.aiibeauty.com
I've found it in stores in the 1oz version. Would love to find it locally in 4oz but have only been able to find the larger size online...
You can read 50+ positive reviews and see what the packaging looks like at:

I have good experiences with Solar nail oil from Creatives and Essie apricot oil (don't know if they are sold outside Europe) and the mentioned Dr H neem nail oil. Rubbing in nail oil every night keeps nails healthy looking and prevents peeling.
I second that diet supplements are beneficial for nails and cuticles. |
