Im am cursed with an itchy scalp that will severely flair up around the hair line into large scabs that flake/itch like crazy and turn a very unflattering shade of red. Sexy huh? It happens several times a year and NOTHING will make it go away. Warm Jojoba oil treatments were my only hope to bring a certain amount of relief but even then the break was short lived. They were also time consuming and messy. I had been eyeing Organix Thera Neem Shampoo for a while now and after my latest -not to mention worst!- flair up I broke down and bought the shampoo and conditioner.

Im so glad I did! This combo has eliminated any and all flakes, soothed my scalp and left my hair shiny. I have been using them for about three weeks now but it only took about three washes for my scalp to return to normal. Highly recommended for those with sensitive scalp.

I paid about $12USD + tax for 12 oz for both.

Shampoo Pros:
-Cleans even the dirtiest of hair to a squeaky clean state.
-Soothes and heals the scalp.
-Leaves hair very manageable and shiny.

Cons:
-Does not have the most pleasant scent, not horrid but slightly like a house cleaner, however, it does not linger.
-For best results you need to leave the lather on your hair and scalp for 3-5 mins. Maybe a PITA for people who take military slap and dash type showers. Worth the extra time IMO.
-Watery texture that some may find difficult to use in the shower.

Conditioner Pros:
-Really moisturizes and makes hair soft.
-Does not build up.
-Rinses totally clean.

Cons:
-Has a slightly weird smell too, thankfully the company had the foresight to add a light coconut fragrance to it so after rinsing thats all you can smell.
-Needs to be left on for 3-5 mins as well.

Ingredients on both can be found here.

Ooh, vonstella, thank you for this review! My scalp sometimes forms the same thing, though it's erratic and hard to know when it'll hit, so I'm happy to have anything that'll help. I sometimes make my own sort of treatment by mixing neem oil and ACV into my normal shampoo, but it's a pain and my boyfriend can't stand the smell of the vinegar, so it's nice to have an alternative!

Just curious, were these available at a store, or did you have to order them? (I'm selectively cheap about shipping charges, but these sound and look worth it!)

You may want to stop using the ACV for a while and see if that helps. I realized that after using ACV rinses my scalp would flare up within a few days but it took me a while to put two and two together! Kinda thick sometimes! Rolling Eyes I think that its too strong for my scalp or it exacerbates my "condition". Anyway I really love this stuff. I bought mine at Whole Foods, if you dont live around one I would be happy to CP it for you if you like. JLMK!

Hm, I will check the Whole Foods in my area first, but thanks for the offer! I just may take you up on that, or CP you something in return if you have anything in mind. Smile It's weird, my scalp seems to both love and hate the ACV - it soothes it a lot when it flares up, but I don't do it all that often and I think that helps. I used to do it more and it definitely made it worse. But now, if I keep it down to once a week or less, it's OK. I actually think all my products with silicones and whatnot make my scalp worse - they seem to exacerbate it with the waxy/oily buildup. So I tend to do my normal silicone-heavy routine for sexy styling for a few days, and then ACV or baking soda to strip off all the bad stuff, and that tends to keep my flareups at bay too. It's a very finely tuned machine, hahaha. And imperfect! This stuff sounds like it would be a really good addition to the mix. Smile

I wanted to add, I noticed this combo has cleared up those small annoying hair line blemishes caused by product, sweat, etc. Really great stuff IMO.

Wanted to add that Organix has a Neem Oil treatment for Nails and Cuticles that is really great! It is one of those scrubby things, like one-minute miracle, however, it works better and is supposed to be helpful for nail fungi.

You know, I saw this on my last trip to Whole Foods, I almost got it but put it back at the last min. I'll pick it up next time(and do a review), my hands could use it--big time.

So, I wanted to update my review on the shampoo and conditioner. I have strayed on the shampoo a few times just to try new stuff and wasnt pleased at all! Not only did my scalp flare back up but my hair didnt have the same shine or bounce that it did with the Thera Neem. I think that this is my HG scalp treatment and wash in one!

Has anyone tried any of their other products yet? Im tempted by Neem Oil Botanical Fading Cream.

"Unsightly skin spots can be safely minimized with this brightening blend of botanical extracts and soothing Neem. Our Neem Oil & Botanical Fading Cream has been clinically proven to fade skin spots and promote a bright complexion. Significant results were observed after twelve weeks. In addition to a general skin brightening effect, there was also significant decrease in the color and size of skin discolorations or “age-spots." Especially formulated for sensitive skin and those who may not have been able to tolerate other natural and chemical fading creams."

Aqueous extract of Melia Azadirachta (Neem) Leaf*, Aloe Barbadensis Gel*, Glycerin, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Persea Gratissma (Avocado) Oil, Extracts of Malva Sylvestris (Mallow), Menta Piperita (Peppermint), Primula Veris (Cowslip Primrose), Alchemilla Vulgaris (Lady's Mantle), Veronica Officinalis (Speedwell), Melissa Officinalis (Lemon Balm), Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow), Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Seed Oil*, Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Fragrance (parfum from natural ingredients).
