I'll start this off by saying, how I love Sothy's products, they never disappoint :P
The softening emulsion is perfect for normal to combination skin types. It is very similar to Sothy's Hydra-protective cream but more like a fluid. I love fluid moisturizers cause they are so light and silky feeling! Anyway, this emulsion makes your face so soft and so matt, yet it is moisturizing. They say the secret is that it contains "chaparral extract," which is "a resilient plant known for it's longevity and ability to survive within a hostile environment." Perfect I'm sold on that statement alone-- I live in Detroit, lots of pollution and extreme weather temperatures! That said, I really like this product. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for not having an SPF. So there! |

Just of out of curiosity, if you had a choice between this and the Oxygenating Fluid which one would you go for?
I remember I asked you about the Oxygenating Fluid a while ago (still itching to try this ) and you said it was very nice. Which would be your pick between these two?
Thanks ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

AAAGGH Mabsy, you just asked me the question that I have been asking myself, "Which one should I re-order when I need another moisturizer?" That's a tough one because I like them BOTH. Unfortunately I haven't come up with an anwer yet, so I may have to get back to you. They both work really well but there is a price difference in the two. The hydra protective softening emulsion is $45 CDN and the Oxyliance fluid is $59 CDN. From reading the descriptions, the hydra protective softening emulsion seems more like a basic moisturizer and the Oxyliance fluid seems more intense (if your skin is really clogged or polluted from stress, smoking, the environment). I would recommend asking for a sample of both from EDS because they are both really good. I do think I like the emulsion for winter better though. It hasn't snowed yet though so I'll have to wait and see. . . Also check out Sothy's main website because the descriptions of the two are better. Good luck and tell me which one you end up liking better or if you don't like either. :P |

P.S. here's what the Sothys website says about the oxygenating fluid.
"Skin is a living organ that breathes and renews itself. Oxygenating the skin enables it to fight against pollution, prevent asphyxiation, congestion and the accumulation of waste in skin tissues that can accelerate the ageing process."
Mabsy, to give you a third option--Capers Mum recommended to me a while back the Sothy's hydroptimal gel. It is gel based moisturizer that adjusts to your skin's own moisture level. I have not tried it because there is an ingredient that makes it not vegan friendly, I think it's propolis. My aesthetician also likes it.

Thanks Thoughtcrime!
You've just reminded me that I once received one of those Sothys GWP sets with a previous EDS order. I've got the Radiance Normal-Oily Skin Kit.
Anyhoooo, you reminded me that I had it so I decided to crack it open and give it a go. I just started using this today so no reviews on this just yet (I'll report back in about 10 days or so ) but I had write and say that the Hydroptimale gel is really lovely! It's a gel cream that's just beautifully light. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that the full size comes in a pot. Not a big fan of those myself! Gimme pump packaging any day!
Between the Hydra-Protective and the Oxygenating products I'm still leaning to the Oxygentaing lotion I think. I like the description better (sad but true...)

Mabsy,
Awesome-- I look forward to your Sothys reviews.
I haven't tried any of those products in the normal to oily radiance line you have so I am curious how they are. My skin reacts well to Sothys. In fact my mom has commented on how my skin looks good since I've been using Sothy's. In fact she started using it too and really likes it so far. Another thing you might like about the Oxygenating fluid, is that it is in a pump just like you like. I prefer tube packaging the best because you get your money's worth when you cut the end open and get every last drop! :P |

i was abt to purchase the set of this with the hydra-protective serum when i read this thread. the product description said that the Hydra-Protective Softening Emulsion is a night lotion:
"A nourishing and regenerating NIGHT penetrating cream for normal to combination skin. For Home Care Use: apply in the evening on a well cleansed and toned skin"
but according to this thread i get the perception that it's a DAY moisturizer coz of the SPF thingy!! Can someone enlighten me?? i ended up purchasing Decleor essential balm as night treatment (with no serum *groan)! |

Newbie,
the actual Sothy's box or back of moisturizer states it's for a.m. and p.m. HTH
This is a nice moisturizer, although I do not use Sothys anymore. |
