Personally I'm crazy about golfing and whenever I find my time and friend who has a car Razz I would go out playing golf.

This is my routine before golfing:

moisturizer
SPF sunblock
SPF tinted moisturizer
SPF primer
concealer
SPF powder foundation

While playing, you can imagine how I get a strong attack from sun and there is nowhere to hide. I wear sun glasses and hat, but it's impossible to avoid the attack out there for 4,5 hours. I sweat during, so I wipe off my face quite often. I put on the compact powder as often as I can, but the powder come off easy while sweating and folowing the stupid white ball. You can imagine what I look like by the end of the game. It's just awful. My face is wet, red, looks like burned. I'm paranoid finding new sun spots on my cheeks.....

Maybe I should use liquid foundation rather than powder one, but I do not like it because I feel like my skin can't breathe, (after layers and layers of spf stuff) and it's so unnatural looking to me.(I may be so paranoid about this..., after all, who cares about how I look on the course?)

Anyways, I wanted something that provides an extra protection that isn't a cream or moisturizer. So I purchased Benev Pure Titanium Dioxide. It's a small bottle (0.3oz) contains 100% titanium dioxide, micronized particles offering broadband protection for both the UVA and UVB. It's white liquid without addictives, odorless. I love the texture which is very smooth and velvet finish, not greasy or sticky at all. I just add 2 drops mixing with moisturizer or water. That gives me an extra protection from further sun damage. This is a must have for my addictive golfing activity.

Is it just me but I thought layering SPF doesn't actually increase how much protection you get?

That's pretty much my reading too Sormuimui and worse it can lower it if you mix the kinds of SS used. Using one kind of SS chemical can degrade another kind of SS chemical or affect it's stability.

But then again if it were just pure mineral screens on top of the same, it might add and not detract if they were low percentage ones in the first place, but you can't get all that high a PPD with them anway.

I was reading the post again and I wonder - are you using too much moisturizer? It really seems like you're layering too much on and it might congest your skin. I think since you put moisturizer on before your SS you might not need the tinted moisturizer. And like you said, you seem to sweat a lot while playing golf and walking from hole to hole, all that layering doesn't really help much at all. Perhaps next time you golf just put on light makeup after your SS and instead of touching up with powder foundation (which doesn't really help make you look better since it comes off whlie when you sweat and wipe) perhaps touch up with one of those powder sunscreens - colorescience as one and so does IS Clinical - that way you will get more protection without needing to layer all that stuff on your face.

Hi JuJu--i don't know if you're using a viatmine c serum, but they wonders for increasing your protection. i use skinceuticals C+E ferulic acid serum and it is supposed to boost my protection against photo aging by 8 times.

Hi, skincareaddicted

That's good to know. I'm actually using Vit C serum (PSF) every morning.

Hi, sormuimui I heard that two products with an SPF of 15 (for example)should provide an equal amount of sun protection, but I also heard that I certainly do get more protection by applying more sunscreen in any form. Ny friend who is a chemist also told me that I'd better apply the chemical sunscreen first, and wait a while for it to dry up, before applying the physical sunscreen to be perfect. But it's interesting issue, maybe I make a new thread about this topic to get other girls advises.

By simply applying all these SPF products you are not actually benefiting with more protection.

SPF 15 provides 93% protection from UVB rays, SPF 30 provides 97% protection. Any SPF higher than 30 still only provides 97% protection.

So i think you are wasting your money JuJu. I think you should search google about sunscreens for further information and get information/facts from reliable sources first before making purchases.

To help you out, you can get some useful information from the following link, although there are many others.
