Among celebrities in London a controversial anti-aging cure is now more coveted than a designer handbag, according to this article from Timesonline in April.
Some doctors are prescribing Human Growth Hormone (HGH) orally or injected, and patients are getting thinner, younger looking and more energetic. The treatments are very expensive, and possible long term side effects are unknown.
In the end of the article there are some advices on how to boost your HGH the natural way.

Any thoughts? Are anybody using creams containing Human Growth Hormone (I believe it's similar to Human Growth Factor)? |

I am using a supplement containing this Human Growth Factor, I must admit I am very hit and miss in using it, as it's got to be taken on an empty stomach, and my stomach is rarely empty, so not surprisingly, I've not noticed any difference whatsoever. It's called Ageless 5000, and if I remember rightly, Scalawaggirl is also using it. |

That's very interesting. Is there any guarantee that this Human Growth Hormone really does work? |

I have only read of medical use of HGH for young people who have been diagnosed with stunted growth, for them there are constant side effects like chronic headaches and tiredness but again no long term studies have been done to determine the effects on health. I would really avoid such synthetic growth factors as the body needs to activate a lot of complex processes before utilising HGH and simply injecting doses and expecting "more is better" results is careless. |

I know some poeple use it and the sales person even told me that Mrs. Bush uses it as well as not only it helped her lose weight but also made her more beautiful and younger looking. It is expansive though and I never use it. |

I wonder if the OTC Human Growth Factor creams are regarded safe and whether people get results from using them. PSF has got one, that is carried by EDS. |

I believe HGH is essential for growth in children and continues to help with the metabolism of protein, lipids and carbs in adults. In young adults and children the largest dose of HGH is made during deep sleep. As we age HGH levels drop drastically. Healthy older individuals who take HGH show increase muscle mass and decrease fat. This is not without side effects such as fluid retention, and abnormal glucose processing, joint pain! It seems obvious that there would be a price to pay if a person is being exposed to high levels of synthetic HGH over a long period of time for youth and beauty! |

Wow the measures people go to to stay young!
Just enjoy it I say... So what you have some wrinkles- what's the worst that can happen..?
I think we should be spending more time & money researching cures for REAL illnesses.
Anyway that's by 2 cents. |

I think it's appalling, the lengths that some people will go to in the name of vanity. And this is coming from the mother of a child who needed growth hormone injections 3 times per week, to the tune of $40,000. per year, from the age of 5 to 13 to reach the height of 4' 11". And 20 years ago when we were living this nightmare, the protocol, just to be approved was daunting.
I'm a new member, so I hope you will all bear with me, but this topic, hit just a little too close to home. |

Sounds a bit under-researched for long term results. You might end up with strange side effects in the future, yikes |

Does PSF really have a product containing HGH? I use a few PSF products and like the line.. didn't think they would put stuff like HGH in their products? Which product? so I can avoid... |

Hi: I love PSF products and PSF StimuColl-c Intensive eye serum contains Tissue Growth Factor and I am not sure if it is the same as HGF. I think HGH in a skin cream is probably not a huge risk issue. Men and women receiving high dosages regularly via injection route or oral route are taking a great risk since there are no long term studies supporting benefits and risks involved! |

I was thinking about the Cellular Night Cream from PSF. It contains Epidermal Growth Factors. I really don't know if one should avoid creams like this, but I recall some people here on EDS didn't want to use such creams as they were afraid to speed up cell turnover in an unnatural way.

Hmm... I thought HGH was a completely different thing from EGF and those other growth factor thingies put in skincare Of course it's not unusual for me to be wrong ... |

I don't know to which extent HGH or EGF can be compared.
Some people are worried about using creams with EGF. In the link below the possible drawbacks to PSF Cellular Night Cream and similar creams are discussed. In one of the posts (a link in the link) it's suggested that these creams cannot promote cancer in healthy skin cells, but it might be a bad idea to use it if your cells are unhealthy\precancerous. |

I have injected HGH every day for two years.
It's not a miracle cure. By itself it will do nothing. It only possibly makes sense to use it as an aid when working out and eating sensibly.
It doesn't build muscle and it doesn't melt fat unless one exercises and eats accordingly. It has a tendency to raise blood glucose and so if one is prone to diabetes or simply eats all the wrong foods, HGH could be accelerating it.
Does it do anything? Honestly I don't know.
My big hope was that it slows the aging process and I was worried that if I stop using it, I would age faster
These days you can only legally get it with a Rx and doctors are getting much more cautious prescribing it. If you can find a Dr to prescribe it, it will set you back $600 - $800 per month. |

I took HGH factor supplements for a few months some years ago, when it was first on the "mainstream scene."
Nada. Zilch. No change whatsoever. |
