After facial cosmetic surgery in January, my surgeon insisted I use this mild cleanser while I was in the healing process. I was very concerned, because my skin was very oily, acneic, and I have large pores. I pictured a youthful face with lots of pimples.
Believing this product would just not work for my skin, I was diligent to wash my face gently with it for a full minute. I realized I had never really washed my face for a full minute before. Why don't you all make a mental note of how long you are taking when you actually cleanse your skin tonight. I think prior to this I was at about 15 seconds.
Cut to the chase - what's happened? Well, it's been over 2 full months now and I am sticking with this cleanser because I am totally acne free! There's been no change to my diet, medications, vitamins, exercise regime, laundry detergent or amount of water I am drinking - which is a good amount daily. I can admit that my skin is still oily - no worse, no better. But I have had a number of people tell me that my skin looks calmer and not so irritated, and that the skin itself looks healthier (they are not talking about the cosmetic procedure).
I have read that often people with oily/acneic skin do themselves no favours and buy strong cleansers in an attempt to try to banish the oil on their faces. What happens is the skin rebels and pumps out more oil - not what you want. I'm sure others here have more details on how and why this happens. Prior to the DDF Sensitive Skin Cleansing Gel I had been using the DDF Glycolic Face Wash. I pretty much had tried anything strong in the high end and drugstore brands. Nothing worked. My skin stayed oily with pimples. I even avoided using a moisturizer because that seemed to make things worse. However, I am now able to use DDF Light Moisturizing Dew, a very light moisturizer for those with oily skin.
Hope this can help someone, though I know our skin can all react so differently.
