I have never tried mineral foundations, although I hear that many people like them. I have combination skin that is normal-dry in the cheek areas and slightly oily in the tzone. I don't like wearing heavy foundations and would like something with a natural look and feel. In the summer I am darker, but was looking for a mineral foundation for fall/winter. Currently my winter foundation is MAC Select Tint NW25. Not sure what color I would be with the mineral foundations. Thanks for your help! |

I just bought fair 2, and I think it's too dark for me I think I may look a bit orangy. Will have to try and perfect my application, but I wish I had gone lighter! |

Howdy!!!
I'm sure one of these knowledgeable ladies on this forum can help, however, I can't recommend enough the experts over at forums.delphiforums.com/mineralmania.
Boy oh boy do these chicks know a lot about mineral makeup. It can be overwhelming at first....but ask and you shall receive your answers.
The site contains links to a gajillion mineral lines, including BE.
In my sincere opinion, there are a ton of other lines out there that I think you might like better than BE, however, there are the BE addicts - as proven by a forum that is called just that! - The BE Addicts Forum!
The sites that the forum recommends have samples that you can order for minimal amounts - like Cory Cosmetics for example - her samples are .35 each!!! You can order a ton of them. You just have to determine your skin tone and order away....once you find the right one, then you can order a full size.
I have tried lots and lots of lines, and I myself like Jane Iredale when I want that creamy feel, and Geografx when I want a more matte look. Customer service at Geografx is AWESOME. Kimberly is a doll. I believe Jane is available on this wonderful site.
With minerals, it's all trial and error - from picking the right color to application techniques. I'm here if you need any more help. I think over the past year, I've become pretty knowledgeable - again, I can't hold a candle to the girls over at mineral mania, but they sure have taught me alot!!!!

that's a tough one. I'm an NC15 and I can go for the #1 and the #1.2. I would probably say that you're a #2 actually, but I can't gurantee it.
You can try to use the foundation chart to see what category your shade matches to (if the particular foundation is in the list) and then select the Bare Minerals foundation and look up the same shade category (i.e. PPP, LLL etc). Sorry, this is a bit hard to explain, you'll know what I mean when you use it. If the exact foundation you are using, or the shade of that foundation, is not on there then try the other MAC foundations listed and see if there is an entry for NW25.
You can access the foundation chart at: http://members.lycos.co.uk/chiaxx/foundation.html

You should be able to get them from EDS with your order. Otherwise, you could try to find a salon that stocks BE or call the company itself. eBay is also a good place to look. |

There's a website called littlestuff4u.com that sells BE samples for $4.50 and $6.50 (I think one's a teaspoon and one's a half teaspoon.
She has samples of other lines too. Very quick delivery and great customer service.
