Hi all!

I have lots of gray hair and have been using drugstore brands for many years. I'm now finding the grays to be resistant to absorbing color, my color fades quickly and re-touch of the roots is needed every 2 weeks (which I'm very reluctant to do because of the damage to my hair).

I've read posts recommending Wella Color Charm and have also heard of Ion Color Brilliance. Would you kindly share your thoughts on either one if you've tried it? It would be the icing on the cake if my hair could be shiny/silky too (it's very dull due to all the coloring) but I'm mainly concerned about lasting color for the grays. I will also be adding Gray Magic (another tip I picked up from these forums!).

Thanks so much!

I've been using Wella Color Charm for a couple of years now and love it. Gray Magic is also wonderful. My hair grows fast so I need to touch up my roots every 4 to 5 weeks, but I usually stretch it out to 6 weeks and just look bad the last week to avoid damage. If I need to look good, I use a hair highlighter mascara to hide the roots.

You've sold me on Wella! If it's 4-5 weeks between coloring those grays, I'd say that's great and definitely better than 2-3 weeks for me (3 weeks being the absolute longest between coloring and it's very obvious too).

Thank you again, Jeannine! I've noticed you've responded to several of my questions and I do appreciate your suggestions. Have a wonderful week!

I just used Ion Color Brilliance semi-permanent color and it only covered maybe 50% of my few gray hairs. Being semi-perm, and not requiring peroxide to process, I spose it can't be expected to do as good a job as Color Charm. I had to give it a try though!
