I have often heard that old story of an older woman with gorgeous skin who used Oil of Olay her entire life and then once she stopped using it, she saw rapid changes ie aging skin....Is is possible that frequently changing skin care products is "bad" for your skin? Just curious because I am a product junkie (recently finding this site doesn't help my * spam alert * either!!!)

I seriously doubt it. I think it's probably good to add a new product every once in awhile since you introduce the skin to new actives.

The experts say that we should change some of our products every six months as our skin get used to them. One does not have to change the brand but to use another moisturiser in the range

I agree...same concept with changing your shampoo. I'm just guessing here, but I suspect that our hair and skin can become accustomed to the products we use, so they may end up losing their effectiveness over time (i noticed this with shampoos).

I don't think it's so much the case with skin getting accustomed to a product,as much as out skin is constantly changing. That is why it's good to consider your skins new needs every-time before buying a product you run out of.As to the story with the "olive olay lady"Laughing-sometimes people that have effortlessly good skin hit a point at which they start rapidly aging. So coincidence perhaps?))

I don't think changing products can harm your skin, but I think you should give a product some time to see if it works. I don't think it's good to get so bored with products that you're changing them every week.

I think it's good to change skincare periodically, similars to the theory nutrition intake, we cannot eat the same kind of food every day without variation...
