Bought a set of Sephora Brand Professional brushes for use with my latest discovery - Bare Escentuals (which I actually have an eye shadow of from 1980  and didn't know it). The brushes are what I call RICH; can't find a better foundation brush which is in the set for $58. Then I discovered after buying BE's Quick change brush cleaner for $18- 4.5 oz bottle that on Ulta.com for a 16 oz of Japonesque's cleaner at the same price works just as well, maybe better. |

| These are the ones I can attest to only. They are the first link in your reply. I did examine the second set of brushes (2nd link) you are considering, and they appear to be one-ended; giving you a total of 6 tools. You receive 8 tools with my set as 3 of the brushes are dual-ended. Additionally, my set contains a brush (double-ended eye blend/smudge brush) which sits in the center of the set that is unsurpassed for getting into either eye corners, around the outside of the eye to create a smudged, cat look. After 20+ years of having professional make-up applied to my mug, I don't believe an artist in Los Angeles has this level of quality in their toolbox. Can't recommend a higher quality set for the price. |

| I have been using my facial soap to clean my brushes. I spent a lot of money on my brushes. They are Bobby Brown. |

Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals) advertises in their brochure a cleaner (soap) called "Well Cared For" - If anyone tries it - pls give me a shout  . They recommend a specific ritual also for cleaning cosmetic brushes with soap which sounds effective. More next time ladies  |

I use J&J Baby Shampoo to wash my brushes gently in tepid water. Then, I just lay them flat to dry. It does a great job at cleaning at only a couple dollars for a pretty good sized bottle.  |

Yup, that's all I've ever really used. Shampoo. Gentle, economical, and does the trick! Some of my brushes are 14 years-old, and they still look & perform well! (they're original M.A.C, pre-1995) They've taken a beating, having used them both professionally and personally. I've tried a couple of brush cleansers, but seriously folks, one doesn't need to spend such money! One exception: for instantaneous, immediate-drying: Joe Blasco Brush Cleanser. However, use only if in a pinch, and have no time to wait for drying. Otherwise, continual use will dry-out the bristles. |

Hi, Caspers Mum,
I've never heard of this before--it sounds great! Can you tell me how long it actually takes to try? Does it take an hour maybe? The one thing I don't like about using my J&J is that it takes awhile to dry(overnight at least for me) and sometimes I get a bit impatient(esp with my fave brushes! :P) |

| I wash my brushes with shampoo, squeeze the water out with a paper towel and then give them a good shake. Gently shape the bristles and lie them flat with the brush part hanging off the end of a table. They dry quickly. Also, the large powder and blush brushes...just wash the ends, not the entire brush. Also speeds the drying. |

| I use Johnsons baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes....its gentle and smells great!!! |
