How do you treat or get rid of dry patches on the upper eyes? I think my skin is reacting to the castor oil I added to the jojoba & olive oil mix I've tried. I don't put the oil on my eyes but it must find it's way there while I'm cleansing. This is the second time I tried adding a little castor oil and the itchy patches returned to my eyelids which now look crepey and horrible.

Needless to say, I've stopped using the castor oil but need advice on what to do next. My question is, how do I get rid of the dry skin? I am using the PSF Super Hydrating Eye Cream (which I love) but will that get rid of the dry patches? It almost feels like the skin there needs to peel or something. Should I put some Vit C serum or is that not for the eyes? I use PSF Vit C.

Thank you for any advice you may have.

I think you should just put some Vaseline on it and let time take care of it, it will probably be gone in a couple of days.

Blessdt,
When I first came to EDS I felt I had to try the OCM and ended up with horrible, dry, peeling skin that hurt. Sounds very similar to what is happening on your eyelids. I quit the OCM and went back to the cleanser that has been my standby. It took a few weeks and everything did clear up. Good luck.

jom,
thank you for suggesting a simple solution I can easily do tonight.

I think I am experiencing the same thing you did. After this second round of adding just a little castor oil and the same thing happening, I know that was the culprit. I was unsure before because I had changed too many things at once. The other thing I've noticed with the OCM (and I've only now figured it out), even without the castor oil, is an occasional clogged duct in my upper eyelid. It's not a stye but is a soft lump (not near the lashline) which is painful/tender at first with swelling of my lid. It goes away after a few days. I didn't connect it with using oil to clean off my eye makeup but it's happen a couple times now and I don't know what else it could be so I'm stopping all OCM to see if that's been the cause for that too. Thanks for posting!
