I have a fairly small scar from surgery about 2 years ago, and while it has faded a lot (used Mederma with good results right after surgery), I am still trying to get it to fade all the way to white/skin color. My doctor was saying that it just takes time...some scars fade more quickly than others (true, because I have other scars that were almost invisible within months...this one is stubborn!).
However, I can't help but wonder if one of the skin fading creams might help the pinkness go away a bit faster? I know Vitamin E is good for scars, but is that just with regards to helping them heal, or fading the color?
Hope that makes sense!

Vitamin C, retinol, glycolic acid, emu oil, rosehip seed oil can all help to lighten skin, also if you go on skinactives.com they have a whole bunch of different actives that are said to lighten skin naturally, I am going to try some of them when I am able to buy some, also i think swansons has a lightening cream that has natural extracts in it, i think it's called gigiwhite or something, under the beauty section of the catalog that is all-natural. |

sarahb...I went online to find the Bio Oil, and it looks like it's only available in Europe, Africa and New Zealand (on their website there was no option to choose the US as a country to purchase in). Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?
At any rate, could you tell me where your sister found it?
Thank you!

My hubby used Bio Oil on his face, he was run over at work, but that's another story and left with a nasty scar on his temple, we applied it a few times a day for a couple of months and now the scar is bearly visible. It's cheap too. |

Wow...sounds like great stuff! And you're right, the price I saw on Ebay wasn't bad at all...
Many thanks for the recommendation!

The homemade Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream has faded a lot of my acne scars as well as lightening and evening out my skintone. |

I will definitely report back on the Bio Oil! And with the newly formatted DIY board (everything is so easy to find!!), I'll have to look up the DHCC recipes and make a batch! Have read so many good things about it, probably about time I gave it a try...
