well today i started my skin culture peel 4000 i forgot how small those pots were im sure they have started to put even less product in there as the pots arent even filled to the top
the burning isnt anywhere near as intense as a tca peel is more of a deep heat burn if that makes sense
i cant wait to see some new fresh skin underneath coming through |

I'm assuming you'll also be using the highest protective sunscreen you can find too. Especially with all the peels and acids you're using, you need to be absolutely super-careful about using sunscreen all day and every day, or you can lose in a day what you've taken weeks to gain. (I know, I made that mistake once...) |

Good question, londongirl--unfortunately I am white and on the pale side at that, so I'm not as aware of what causes a white cast. The reason I mention this issue is that I don't know about the UVA protection of the sunscreen you've chosen, and it's the UVA that matters in hyperpigmentation treatment. Because you are using such strong actives on your face, there's a risk of creating new hyperpigmentation there. Perhaps a new message specifically asking about high PPD sunscreens that don't have a white cast on this forum might help--I suspect somebody out there knows. |

i am so happy my skin has been lightened by a two shades
how i know this because for one it looks lighter and i thought perhaps it was my mind playing tricks on me but i used my becca foundation and and put a stripe of colour down my cheek and there is a clear line where the foundation is its really obvious so much so i think i will have to use that foundation as i contour for the cheeks
only downside now my already darker shade neck to me stands out even more! Shock
my peeled skin looks bright and luminous but not ''bleached'' looking |

thank you i am very surprised to be honest at how well the obagi has impoved my skin with the tca it made the darker area rougher in texure as well no amount of scubs would fix it but the retin a and the hydro my skin is now really smooth
thankfully the area is on my body where i will not be getting any sun on it so im not worried about repigmenting due to that |

Londongirl,
I found a site that sells Jessner peels, and their main ingredients are resorcinol, lactic acid, and salicylic acid. I've never done a Jessner peel myself. They do recommend that if you are dark skinned that you use a bleaching cream prior to the peel so you won't hyperpigment. And, if you are using retinols, they recommend that you stop using them before undergoing the peel (at least five days before).I just did a salicylic acid peel and I'm going to do a lactic one tomorrow. Since using mandelic acid and vitamin c, my spots are fading slowly.I wish you the best with your routine too. I know how you feel. I've been trying to get rid of these spots for years. I'm glad that you are making progress! |
