I have been experimenting with Bare Escentuals and love the foundation but have a question.
I read somewhere that the odd numbered foundations are for "red undertones" and the even numbers are for "yellow undertones", and I'm confused, as I have quite a red complexion so I bought the Medium #3 (as I assumed that if I'm red it means I have red undertones). But I find the #3 very pink although the coverage is great, and (in contradiction) I have also heard that if you are red you should go for yellow based foundations, which as far as I can see are the even numbered BE foundations?
Can anybody tell me the difference?
Thanks for any help - I don't want to spend any more money on wrong colours so am offering a reward to anyone who can help me out here. Well, OK, not a reward as such, but lots of cyberhugs, which, to some, are a reward in themself!
OK, I'll shut-up now. |

Heidi, not that the knowledgable ladies of this forum arent' extremely helpful, (and I'm sure someone will answer you here!) but you may be better off asking the BE experts on the Delphi forums about your color dilemna!
Man oh man do THEY know their minerals! They can probably help you with your color dilemna.
The site is forums.delphiforums.com/mineralmania/start?
I'm glad you like BE!!! Just be careful on that forum b/c they also rave about TONS of other mineral lines that are available! You will be amazed!!!!

Thanks Maria - I will try that website.
I couldn't find a hug in the end, so here's a round of applause and a big smile instead (I love these emoticons - they're so funny) |

I think that what is meant with even and odd numbers is this:
1= 1.0=even number
1.2=even
2.0=even
2.3=odd
3.0=even
etc. I have 2.3, and that is definitely yellow-toned. 3.0 is quite pinkish to my eye. I was considering getting one in a colour just a little bit darker than the 2.3, and the aesthetician told me that the next number up from 2.3 is 5.2, which looks right. So I don't really know about the odd/even hypothesis |
