Well, I've had the Quasar SP for far too long now without using it nearly as often as I should. Particularly for the money I paid for it, I have been far too undisciplined in using it. I would go for a couple of weeks and use it 3x weekly...and then get busy and go for three weeks to a month without touching it.
And yet...somehow, the results are there. I started noticing about two months ago that somehow my skin looked "better", especially around my eyes. Everything seems smoother and firmer. And nothing in my routine has changed except the Quasar. Other people have noticed, too. The latest compliment was being berated by a cranky co-worker because I was the same age as she and her officemate but I didn't have the wrinkles around my eyes.
Without gushing, I consider the Quasar an unqualified success, particularly in conjunction with other actives. I think the Quasar (family of products, whichever model you prefer) adds that extra something I'd been looking for to push my actives' results from good to outstanding. It really doesn't take that much time (being too busy to use this device 1 - 2x per weeks is lame, LOL), and IMHO it is worth the money! |

Congratulations, Yubs! What actives have you been using with it and are you using them in conjunction (as in right before or after) with your SP treatment times? |

I am interested in knowing as well...I just coughed up the money for a LED unit, and any insight would be greatly appreciated! |

yubs, I also have been delighted with my Quasar SP. At first I was using it several times a week. Now, for maintenance I give myself a treatment once a week. IMHO I think we can overdo LED treatments.
Perhaps if you leave your unit out you will use it on a more regular basis. Mine is set right beside my recliner.
Thanks for the update. Please let us know what you use as an active prior to treatment. TIA |

Everybody--currently I am only using Skin Biology CP's (regular strength) and a variety of hydroxy acids...but my favorite acid by far lately is Mandelic by Vivant. I've been using CP's for several years (and after too many bouts with the "uglies" I settled on regular strength serum 2 - 3x per week as the best application for me), and hydroxy acids also. I rotate the acids and usually don't exfoliate more than once per week since my skin doesn't seem to need it any more. I've tried so many different actives, and in the interest of uncomplicating my life, I settled on CP's and hydroxies are two of the few things I don't believe I could live without. And emu oil. I moisturize with that to the exclusion of everything else. Sometimes I mix it with hyaluronic acid, but these days I just use it mixed with CP's on damp skin.
The Quasar really does seem to give my little routine whatever it needed to take my skin to the next level. None of the other actives (vit. C, ALA, retin-A, Green Cream, etc.) in any combinations made as much differece as adding in the light therapy. I chose Quasar based on the reviews here on this forum, and I went with the SP because if there's any way I can have it, bigger is always better. Seriously, it's a sweet little chunk of change, but IMO it's a pretty sweet device that gives awesome results. I don't regret it. I've added it to the short list of things I can't live without.
I always use the Quasar on clean skin. I've tried it with hyaluronic acid and I don't see that it does that much for the application. But that's just me and it's been a while since I used it. I may try it again when I get some more...I ran out and keep forgetting to re-order.
I may be getting ready to try the 1.5mm dermaroller, too. The big thread in this forum has piqued my curiosity big time. The rationale behind it makes a lot of sense. If I have a bit of cash burning a hole in my pocket, all I have to do is come here and read a little to figure out how to spend it! I don't want to hijack the thread away from Quasar, but does anyone have any recommendations on the dermaroller?
BTW, I definitely agree with Winnie that we can overdo with the photorejuvenation, particularly with the SP b/c it's so powerful. |

I am going through my first bout of the CP uglies under my eyes, even though I am only using the Super GHK serum. I am using SC2X on my hyperpigmentation along the sides of my face, and am seeing pretty good results.
When I bought my LED, the skin care expert (Rita) advised that I not do it more than 3x week...she is in agreement that the skin needs down time between treatments. |

Bethany, I think I've seen better results with the copper since I slowed down my application to a couple of times per week than I ever did when I was using 1-2x per day. I also think copper is really one of those long-term commitments that don't manifest the best results until after you've hung in there for at least a year. That said, I hope your uglies go away soon and that they don't come back! |

You know...that is some very good insight. Now that I have purchased my LED, I think I will alternate my treatments, slow down on the copper, and keep the uglies at bay.
Thanks for sharing! |
