Still trying to do homework here and am looking at purchasing at Baby Quasar or other similar product. Just found this laser treatment online from a reputable doctor in my area and thought I would ask on this board since you are so knowledgeable. Again, I am almost 55 have great skin and am being very picky but only want to get rid of a few wrinkles I have that I can see with my 10 power mirror on the top of my cheeks and on the sides of my nasolabial folds. I am happy as a clam with my skin care products.
Anyone who can help with either the Quasar, Lightstim (these seem to be more for evening out skin tone and spots which I don't have ) any way appreciate your help. Maybe perfection isn't possible at my age but I keep trying. Thanks |

Have you considered talking to people from each of the LED companies? AdvanThera (Quasar and Baby Quasar), LightStim, or ProLight are all options.
Figure out what is more important to you, and then call each of them...go with the company that makes you feel the most comfortable with the service, warranty, cost, etc.
Oh, and read, read, read all the threads on here regarding LEDs. (It took me a week, but I got through the bulk of them all.)
I spent a lot of time on the phone to get to my decision, and also PM'd people who had the same laser as the one I was looking at, etc.
I ended up going with ProLight because I wanted the red and amber lights, short treatment time per area (which means strong lights), etc., and someone with a certified dermatology/aesthestic background to help me.
But I don't get my LED until later this week so I can't fill you in yet from a results perspective.
I hope that helps! |

There is not much on Matrix IR Laser online...is this fairly new?
"The Matrix IR laser causes deep collagen remodeling resulting a decrease in the appearance of acne scarring and a smoother texture to the skin"
The "deep collagen remodeling" sounds a bit scary.
I did extensive research on Thermage (too much bad news after more people started using it), and ended up going with Fraxel. I have to tell you that I was not impressed with my results, especially after the pain and the cost of 4 treatments.
Hopefully this is more effective, but not damaging! |

bethany I agree one should read all threads, call companies and make an informed decision regarding a costly LED device. Quasar (Baby, SP, Red), LightStim, Marvel, Tanda have been reviewed on EDS. To date I have not read a review on the ProLight.
We look forward to hearing your thoughts on ProLight after using it for a few weeks. |

You are absolutely right...I only found one person who had purchased it on EDS.
But after I did my research, that's who I chose to go with. I am surprised that more people haven't gone with it, based on the specs.
Hopefully I made a good choice for me, and everyone else will make the best choice for them. |

Hi Platinumrose! I don't know if this is similar or not but about 4 years ago I had a series of Smoothbeam laser treatments to reduce fine lines. Much to my dismay I saw NO improvement!! I've had better results with 5 weeks of my Prolight treatments and they cost less, too!!! ![Bad Grin](images/smiles/badgrin.gif) |

Hi Ladies, My first time on a BLOG (ever) but I wanted to let you know....I have had 9 LED light treatments in combination with peels at a local day spa...and I am sorry to say that I don't see much improvement. This last Saturday I had the Matrix IR & ReFirm...OH MY GOD, something finally works! Now let me just say that I do not have a lot of wrinkles (have kept up on my Botox religiously) but I have always had bags under my eyes. The skin under my eyes had gotten really crepe in the last six months. Although I have NO wrinkles, this crepe skin was really making me look mature:( The Matrix IR is incredible. The skin is...different!! Not like my skin, and even more is that the bag under one of my eyes is gone!!! I don't know if I got a better treatment on one eye than the other or what, but it is amazing. I was so hoping that the LED would really help, but I'm telling you to do one LED treatment, and then do one Matrix IR & Refirm and then you will know for yourself. One of the Cons is that I had both Matrix and Refirm (2 procedures)so I can't say one worked and the other didn't, but I believe it was the Matrix IR that she used around my eyes and that is where I see the drastic improvement. The other thing is....the pain. I usually fall asleep during my LED treatments, but the Matrix and Refirm are about as painful as an IPL Photofacial. The Laser does cost more than the LED, but I got much more VISIBLE bang for my buck from one $500 (for Matrix & Refirm) than my 9 LED at $225 a pop! |
