Does anyone use Alison Raffaele's make-up? Seems she worked with Bobbi Brown at some point before striking out on her own. Well, she's recently reformulated and repackaged her line to be more eco-friendly as well oil, talc, gluten, fragrance and paraben free, choosing instead to fortify her products with a new Frutta di Vita (Goji Berry, Pomegranate and Resveratrol) antioxidant complex. She has also added a few new products including two primers, one called Age Response Formula with spf 15 and the other, Acne Response Formula with spf 15. Anyone used both the new and/or the original?

Resveratrol is an ingredient i try to avoid in products I use during the day..
Potent polyphenolic antioxidant that is abundant in red grapes and, therefore, in red wine (unfortunately for some of us, not in white wine). Resveratrol has been reported in numerous studies to be one of the most potent natural chemopreventive agents inhibiting the cellular processes associated with tumor development, including initiation, promotion, and progression. It also has significant anti-inflammatory properties. Conversely, there is research showing it to be associated with cell death when applied topically if skin is exposed to sunlight (Sources: Anticancer Research, September–October 2004, pages 2783–2840; Medicinal Chemistry, November 2005, pages 629–633; Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, May 2005, pages 405–430; Antioxidant Redox Signal, December 2001, pages 1041–1064; and Mutation Research, Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis, September 2001, pages 171–180).
Basically in the presence of light, it can cause skin cell death. |

Oh, Edenfield... Don't take this the wrong way but sometimes you can be a downer!! Really just kidding. Is there anything in the formulation that would protect it as an ingredient? TIA!

I think you should be safe using it since it has a decent physical sunscreen in it |

I had a kit with two concealers and a mattifying powder. The concealers were not the right colors for me and the powder turned out to be talc. This was a couple of years ago so maybe it is worth looking at her new improved line. |

I have been lemming her foundation for a while. I use my fdt as my moistuizer and I love that hers has "anti aging" ingred's in it. Would love to actually see the colors so I could tell if they would work for me. |

I'm on my second bottle of "Skin" by AR. I really liked it the first time around--oil free and fragrance free. Light texture that I could use it with a brush.
This time around I am not so happy. Not sure if this product is increasing the milia in the naso folds. Also, this time the colour match doesn't seem as perfect as last time and I wonder if it a change in manufacture or a change in the color of my skin, as I tend to use more sunscreen than in the past.
Still looking for a light, fragrance free cover that is natural looking and doesn't cause breakouts and milia. |

I have Alison Rafaele's invisible loose powder..I find it really unremarkable....I won't buy it again...I was expecting a really silky finish comparable to Laura Mercier's secret brightening powder...but it doesn't even come close....a gonger for me...

Smoky1 is the second jar you are using still the original formulation? Actually, I think I answered my own question as the new formulation is no longer called, "Skin"!
Olivia did you ever get around to trying this one yet? |
