So Im being a good girl and I started an actual skin care regimen complete with cleanser, toner, eye cream, moisturizer, antioxidant and sun block. I even started doing some facial exercises. My skin is looking really good. Yay for me.
BUT I cant stand to have a pale face!! I currently have a Mystic (spray on) tan membership. SO- my question is-Is doing the spray tan thing bad for my skin/pores? Does this defeat the whole point of me taking care of my skin? I would love to know what you all think, or if you've had any experience with this type of situation yourself. |

When I got a spray tan, my face always broke out. I don't know what they put in there and I am sure all brands are different but they are made with chemicals. Maybe you could ask them for the ingredients? |

Asking for ingredients is a good idea. I actually never broke out-in fact the opposite would happen-my skin actually clears up a bit after I get a spray on tan! Weird, huh? I wonder if I can look at the company's site online and see if the ingredients are listed. Im not sure the employees would know, but its worth a try! |

Has anybody else discovered ByTerry VIP Expert Bronze Expert? It comes in a click-pen dispenser with a brush. Sephora only had #3 Sun Tropic, which looked a little dark for my lt/med skin, but it blends easily and sheerly so it works beautifully!
Ingred: Water, bis PEG-18 methy ether, dimethylsilane, glycereth-7, dimethicone, glycerin, butylene glycol, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, PEG-32, polyethylene glycol, monotheyl ether, nylon-12, cylclomethicone, silica, dimethicone crosspolymer, lecithin, jasmine extract, glycine , soybean oil, rosemary leaf extract, sunflower seed oil,, coconut oil, acrylates palmeth-25, acrylate copolymer, tocopherol, etc. Does not contain sunscreen and is not a self-tanner. It states it contains Lumi-Protective Complex and is Antioxidant Hydra-Smoothing Youthful Bronze Radiance. The proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes, and this is a lovely bronzer that is radiant without being shimmery.
"This summer highlight with multi-correcting optical benefits, erases imperfections, fine lines, signs of fatigue for a youthful golden face. Weightless and comfortable aqua-stretch texture" |

I have to say that the Bobbi Brown shimmer brick is the best bronzer I've tried. I was wearing it one summer and my friend commented that I looked so healthy and lucky to be able to go out and get some sun. I'm pasty white and only work indoors. So I have to say thats the best face bronzer. It might be shimmery for some, but since my friend doesn't wear make-up at all and she didn't take notice that it was fake. |

You are going to have to use a bronzer if you keep up your skin care routine and want a tanned face. With all the products sloughing off the dead skin, the "tanned" skin will be scrubbed away too. Bobby Brown does make good bronzers. Also, Gurlain has a great one. |

Do you think that bronzers look strange if the rest of your body is pale? I try to use sunscreen all over, and as a result, do not tan at all. I've never used bronzers and wonder whether they look good for people like me who are pale-skinned all over. |

I found that tinted self tanners enhance pores more so than untinted ones.
BTW - I think the gals at sunless.com have great advice on combining self tanning and skincare. I prefer a sunkissed look, but no way am I giving up acids, retinol and C! |

With bronzer, you have to put it on parts of your faces that would naturally hit the sun, and if your pale (I am) a light hand is essential. So put it on your cheekbones, around your eyebrow near your scalp and a bit on your chin and nose. But again lightly. Its easier to add bronzer on slowly than have to take it out. |

I say that also I got a sample of their By Terry foundation I wonder if the darker shade would work like a tinted moisterizer. Also has anyone tried Dr H Bronzing lotion (?) |

I am not sure if you want a tanner color or just want to have some make up to bring up the features of your face. I suggest you to use a mineral product line as it does not block pores and goes on natural. i like id bare mineral. |

My skin always broke out after spray tans. I guess it depends on your skin type. But I think it definetly clogs your pores- It's a bit like wearing make-up all day and night (Yikes! ) But if your skin can handle it without getting congested then there no reason why you shouldn't continue! |

I agreed, that why its important to use a good skin care product with good cleansers and only use products that won't clog your pores. We only have one face and must take good care of it. |
