Whats the best time of the day to exfoliate?
I am not sure, but I thought that maybe it's best to do it at night ..?

I would say night too then your skin can breathe and replenish itself overnight and look fresher in the morning. IMO anyway |

I prefer to exfoliate at night. Some exfoliate in the morning to have a nice smooth base for their makeup. To me it makes more sense to exfoliate at night but if you use vitamin C in the morning then I could see why you'd chose to exfoliate in the morning instead. |

I do it in the morning because I figure it wakes my skin up and also provides a nice smooth surface for makeup. |

I exfoliate in the morning too but I do use Vit C in the morning so maybe that's why it's been so good for my skin.
This may be one of those things that there's no right or wrong answer, just whatever works best for your skin.

it depends. if it's a light exfoliant then the morning, if it's a big time heavy one then at night. |

Huh... I always do it at night so that if it was a scrub type of exfoliator there would be the whole night for any redness to subside.
Also so any nighttime treatments would really soak in as effectively as possible!
I find the next morning, a wash off cleanser and then my face is really still looking better for the exfoliation and followup night treatments ( serum and nightcream) and has no flakies or anything and is softer for having had the better penetration of the night products.
If I use Dermalogica's Gentle Cream Exfoliant, I could immediately put makeup on, never any redness from that one....but if I do a more manual grainy one like Skin Prep scrub or for that matter ( for me) even Daily Microfoliant, I have slight redness that takes a little while to go away. That's why I only do them at night! |
