Becoming a skin care fanatic, I finally decided to give up tan beds for good. Could someone suggest a really good sunless tan lotion that gives deep dark non-streaked results?

I'm looking on ebay and none of these companies look familiar to me. Also, no spray on tanners. Whenever using other skin care products those tend to peel off and end up looking real ugly.

I have been using Fusion spay self tanner for a few years ,it works very nicely on your face ,it's all I use. When used on the body you have to be careful as it doesn't go on as smoothly ,with practice you get better .

I highly recommend St. Tropez. I get it at Sephora. They have a mouse that's really easy to apply (but make sure you wear gloves.) They have a light-medium and medium - dark. I also use their lotion which has a little bit of tanning solution in it. It works great and very low maintenance.

I agree with the recommendation for St. Tropez mousse. It's the best self-tanner I have ever used. It has a color guide in it so you can see where you have applied it (no streaking). EDS carries it as well as Sephora and others.... I agree with using something to apply it with - relegate a wash cloth, sponge applicator, or buff and do the tops of your hands last.

In addition to the nice, realistic looking color - I was surprised how long the color lasted on me (one application)!

There are a # of older self-tanner threads that you can search for her at EDS as well -- St. Tropez mousse usually comes up in the recommendations Wink

and more on why St. Tropez is so great: the tan fades realistically. It doesn't just vanish in 3 days but gradually mellows out like a normal tan. And did we mention how realistic the color was....? Oh but I did think of a drawback about St. Tropez...the smell. Has that same tanner-chemical smellas all the others. Not as strong as some. But I think the smell is unmistakable and cannot be covered up. I put it on at night before bed and then MUST wash it off in the morning.

I second St Tropez! I prefer the mousee, whipped bronze.

Yes, to the comments added to the St. Tropez mousse - except the smell one for me. I didn't notice it. I did wash it off the following day because of the color guard -- and I wanted to see if the self-tanner color had developed.

Have you try the sun tanning lotions? Estee Lauder gives me good results and its natural looking. Other than that I am not sure how you can get tan without the sun. Can anyone provide more info?

sfong,

There is a whole site devoted to sunless (self-tanning): www.sunless.com

There are also a number of threads here at EDS on self-tanners.

Can you tell me how long the tan will last using St Tropez, do you have to apply it everyday for a certain time to see results and then reapply? If so, how often?

One application of St. Tropez gives me results. It's not one of those need to build products (at least for me). The tan lasts for at least a week and fades gradually, thus looking very natural.

I'm fair though so I'd be interested in hearing if it varies with other people who are naturally darker...
