I know this is a very long term commitment and there is a need to incorporate very, very slowly. I've done quite a bit of reading on three site....platinumskincare.com, skinbiology.com and dianayvonne.com.
Would love to hear your long term use stories or if you know of other sites that would provide information.
I'm 50, have great skin which I attribute to use of Retin A since the age of 40 and daily use of sunblock. But as I enter my 50s, I'd like to step up my routine to include more firming and copper peptides seem to be a good addition to my routine. |

You will find a lot of threads on this and get a lot of different opinions about Copper Peptides. I am 55, and also a veteran Retin A user. I would stick with that and add some Vit C. I lost a lot of elasticity from using the Copper Peptides (altho' I slowly and methodically increased the strength and potency.) They are a crap shoot and not worth the risk in my humble opinion. |

I agree with mountaingirl. I had fabulous skin prior to trying cp's. I did everything right and still lost elasticity. |

Frankly, I hate copper peptides. Some people do have good results, it's true. But those that don't seem to suffer permanent damage. It seems absurd to me that something so unpredictable should even be marketed. I suggest that you do a post search on this board in order to get a clearer picture of the effects of copper peptides. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

Hi Fizzy!
This may be unusual, but I LOVE Super CP Serum, Super Cop 2X, and use them straight, every night, in great quantities.
Of course, I'm an "Extreme Skin" kind of person, and have done everything from lasers to DIY 50% peels.
The Dr. Pickard site is so jam-packed with information, it can be overwhelming. I don't know if this is a correct scientific answer, but intuitively, I want to tell you:
Copper peptides will bring old damage to the surface of your skin. If you're getting enough vitamins, MSM, etc. in your diet, exfoliating, moisturizing, and protecting against UVs, your skin may temporarily *look* worse, as old damage becomes visible, but it's actually getting healthier and better, because deep underneath, you're building new, better skin!
So...you may look worse, but eventually, you'll look better. Not a scientific answer by any means!
I think my skin has been rebuilt so many times, in so many ways, there was little old damage for the copper to bring to the surface. I just notice extra firmness, glow, and...that thickness/moistness of skin that younger gals have. YMMV, of course.
I'm 40, and am so insanely paranoid about my skin aging I probably have body dysmorphic disorder or something.
Probably all of my posts should have the disclaimer: "Warning! Do not try this at home!"

I have been using them for about 6 months, and have used Super GHK, CP Serum, Super CP Serum, SC2X, Lac Sal, BioHeal, BND, Folligen Spray, and Folligen for Blondes.
I saw a significant decrease in pigmentation with SC2X, but then I had a relapse...most likely because it brought old damage to the surface.
I then hit my first serious case of the uglies under my eyes (using Super GHK), and Yubs convinced me to scale back - I was using it 6 days a week, and now I only use it 2 days a week. The uglies quickly reversed, thank goodness.
I did not have such good luck with the Folligen Spray at all - the copper penetrates the hair shaft, and then reacted with my permanent hair color and created a VERY hideous color wherever the Folligen had touched my hair. I am basically stuck with this until it grows out. Too bad Dr. P hasn't responded to my phone calls or emails.
I then switched to Folligen for Blondes, which is a tin peptide product - NO blue/green to mess with my hair color, thank goodness! I have seen significant growth with this product.
Here is the previous CP thread:
