I personally really luv paper masks cuz it hydrates skin instantly and deeply. But one annoying thing about them is sometimes the paper size doesn't quite fit my face shape nicely. It's hard to smooth out the paper mask to fit my face exactly. Also, when I removed the mask, it seems there's a line on my face where the mask was...probably from the fold on the mask.

So I'm wondering if it's just me that have a weird face shape so that the paper mask can't fit snugly on my face? Sad

Hi luvyourskin, paper masks are a piece of paper like the shape of your face. They're usually individually wrapped with serum soaked in it. You take it out and spread it nicely to fit on your face. They're usually Jap., Korean, or Chinese brands.

I like some paper mask with paper in flexible material to fit the face, like Olay total effect.

I hate to use paper mask, coz everytime I use mask, I may fall sleep. Paper mask may dry easily.

My most recent batch of paper masks came from ebay, and I haven't had any problems. I've been soaking them in green tea to help soothe my skin irritations. I find I do have to stretch and adjust the mask once I lay it on my face, but I always manage to get it to fit fine.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

yeah even though the lines are temporary but I'm afraid it'll do long term damage? I noticed that if I removed the paper mask before it's completely dry, it kinda solve the line problem.

I use these sometimes, and always wondered why they don’t come in different sizes. I’ve got a small head and they’re usually too big for my face and I have to fold the outer edges back or else it ends up in my hair, esp the forehead part. Does anyone have a forehead that high? well, apart from Tyra Banks Laughing

I’ve also wondered why they don’t come with a separate piece to apply to the neck, especially those more expensive brands.

So which paper masks are u ladies currently using then? I'm using a Jap. brand called Kose & Hisamitsu. I found most of them are about the same in quality. The price is quite affordable too so it won't break the bank. hehe

What I like about them is you just smooth the mask out on your face, sit back & relax. 10-15 mins later, your face will be well moisturized and hydrated. Very Happy

The paper mask is too small for my face. And I found the eye-nose region is not so pleasantly made which sometimes irritates my eyes.

The last ones I bought were those L’Occitane Immortelle ones, which I didn’t much care for.

Actually I was on a Cathay Pacific flight recently and noticed in their “onboard duty-free” catalogue they sell single masks, to use while flying - can’t remember what brand. Not a bad idea, as it might help to pass the time, plus you could have a lot of fun walking up and down the aisles wearing it, horrifying your fellow passengers Bad Grin

haha appletini, u r so funny!! It is not a bad idea to mask during your flight if you're not afraid of scaring other passengers Very Happy But it would be hard to do if you have makeup on your face though.

I bought some of the paper only things from Sasa a while back, the ones cut in the shape for under eye use, not the whole face. These are just the dry paper and you have to add/soak them in your own choice of “liquid product” before use.

I’ve been trying to think what might be good to use for under eye area, but not coming up with any ideas. Usually I love oils, but not sure oils on their own will work any better with a paper thingie. I was thinking maybe mixing a white or camomile tea with some kind of oil? Any suggestions/recipes?

I find that paper masks might be a bit pricy too. But I feel the instant hydration after use compared to those cream masks that need to be rinsed off or wiped off.

They would be mostly useless for me, since when I mask I do everything to my chest in addition to my face...
