OK, so I decided to be better to my skin than before, and to start using a high-PPD SS instead of the Vichy spf30+ (approx. PPD 10?) that I had been using before. Since my skin is dry, the choice fell on the LRP Anthelios XL Créme Fondante, which has a PPD of 25, according to the package leaflet.
While I was happy with the texture, after a week or so of use, I noticed that I was getting quite many small pimples on my chin, and normally, I'm not that acne-prone. At first, I didn't connect the pimples with the sunscreen, but then, I stopped using it for a couple of days, and now, my skin is back to normal again. These past few days, I've been using MD Formulations's basically physical ss with spf 30, and my skin seems to prefer it, although the UVA protection isn't as high as the LRP.
I guess my moral is that the best ss is the one that you actually end up using, and that your skin can tolerate. |

Yeah Nemi I understand how u feel. Sometimes u just shop around hoping to get a higher PPD ss thinking it'll do good to your skin long term. But then u ended up getting unwanted pimples. So it's like u have to sacrifice clear skin for wrinkles and vice versa Sometimes I would think that using a ss that's comfortable on your skin is the most important. Although the PPD might not be as high but it's still better than nothing. |

The same thing happened to me. I guess I will reserve the creme fondante for super sunny days. I will stick with my anthelios sx. I read on MUA that LRP is coming out with a SPF 40 for the US in July. Hopefully it will be as nice as the SX. |

Yeah every high PPD I've tried gave me some skin problems (I've tried 5 or 6 different kinds from LRP and Bioderma). I've just decided to stick to my Japanses sunscreens. But every summer I go through this cycle of trying new high ppd s/s then not working out |
