Have you ever had tiny fleshy bumps on your skin before? I feel like after using so many products designed for oily skin, my skin is actually being dried out and breaking out with these bumps. They small like milia but aren't actually. I'm thinking of using something more emollient instead |

Hi Oasisjc, I get those bumps sometimes. I'm not sure what they are and why they pop up. I got rid of mine by exfoliating and using Fresh clay bar overnight on the spots. It can take awhile for them to come to the surface. I do think I can dry out my oily skin if I use to many products on it. So I try to watch what I put on it. I did use the OCM for awhile thinking that might help but unfortunately it didn't work out for me. |

I don't think that I've ever had them before, but I imagine that salicylic acid might be beneficial for them. |

For some people, oily skin may be a sign that your skin is dehydrated. The oil is overproduced to compensate. In such a situation, using products for oily skin in fact worsens the situation by further drying out your skin.
So it could be time to switch to using products for normal or dry skin to see if that tactic works. Start with the cleanser and toner first as these are often the major culprits for drying up the skin. |

Increasing water intake could also help in that case. |

Yeah I'm starting to switch to CeraVe since it's gentle and hydrating.
But I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced what I'm experiencing. I just find it weird that I would get these fleshy bumps from dehydration. I usually get them if I use something to emollient, except I haven't come close to anything being emollient this time |

I get bumps on my face and other parts of my body (arms, stomach)that sounds like what you have. I would say they're not zits or milia. I have combination skin that's oily in the summer and mostly dry in the winter. I find that when I get them they are more prone to show up in the the summer and it seems that I've never gotten them in the winter. I've tried just about everything from exfolients to oils. I have a few now on the sides of my face (not in the t-zone) and if they're still there when I see my derm next week I'm going to ask her how to treat them. |
