I've been using Maybelline Volume Express Turbo Boost (Non Waterproof) and finds that if I put a light layer of powder underneath my eyes, the mascara doesn't smudge. If I don't, then it smudges quite badly sometimes. Anyone experienced similar situations?
Also, I'm looking for a mascara that can lengthen & volumize at the same time. Preferrably a non waterproof one that doesn't smudge. If the price is good, it would be a plus too! Thanks! |

My lashes are long, so I need volume. Diorshow is worth the $23 to me -- gives me volume without clumping and not flakes/black powder in my under-eye creases. |

I've had good luck with Cover Girl's Lash Blast and Lash Exact, they wear very well for me when many seem to smudge for me.
I hate to spend alot on mascara since I replace every 3 months anyway. |

I think the mascara smudge issue is personal.
I found a lot of poeple complain the products smudge. However, all of them do not happen on me. In my experience,I will not coat the bottom lashes and the deep root of the top lashes. |

I recommend Diorshow (not the new one that just came out though. Haven't tried it.) Gives you the lushest, longest, fullest lashes by far. Absolute gold standard. |

Shiseido Lasting Lift gives almost weightless airy full long lashes but doesn't smudge - even thru shampoo & cut at the hairdresser! Not clumpy either. |

Clairns does a really good one, but ESD doesn't stock Clairns. It's a shame - they have some really nice lip glosses too. |

I've had great results with Zuzu Luxe mascara. I get it at a health food store. It works better than any of the other brands I've used in the past. |

I'm a little surprised nobody has mentioned it yet: KISS ME mascara! I've used this for over 12 years and NOT ONCE has it ever smudged. Once it's set, it's not going anywhere! Yet it's easily removed. Love this stuff! |

I also apply loose powder around the eyes before applying mascara as I too have found it stopping the mascara from smudging. |

Hi Lindapinda, yeah but sometimes applying loose powder around my eyes makes it dry. I wonder if it's the loose powder that stop the smudging or the quality of the mascara? |

I absolutely adore Blinc Kiss Me mascara. Great length, but not a lot of volume. I've used it for several years and, unless they stop making it (story of my life!), will continue to do so.
It is kinda pricey, so I recently tried to find a new kind and had no luck whatsoever. I have the smudging problem, too, and with every new kind I tried, I looked like a raccoon at the end of the day. In the end, I decided it was worth the extra money. Besides, I love the constant compliments on my long eyelashes! |

Well, yeah, I find that the loose powder makes my skin a little "tighter" as i suspect it to absorb some of the moist from my day cream and eye cream.
I currently live in Perth, Australia where it is pretty hot during summer (35 degrees) but the air is quite dry. During winter (20 degrees)I don't really perspire much but wearing sun glasses makes my eye area a bit moister as the air does not flow as well. I use Dermalogica Total Eye Care SPF 15 and Decleor moisturiser. My loose powder is from Clarins and the mascara is from Aveda. My mascara is not at all smudge proof, but the powder really helps me with the problem. The only thing is if I laugh till I cry, then it's done
Even when I used YSL mascara it smudged. But when I am in Northern Europe and use L'Oreal, it doesn't smudge as much.. Hmmm. Maybe I am a "smudger" and others are not??
And another thing is when I use contact lenses I blink more frequently, which again causes the mascara to smudge a bit faster.
Hope this can be of any help |

And I love Dermalogica Soothing eye makeup remover which is oh so gentle. I have even tried it on waterproof with success!
I love that I don't have to rinse off with water, I tissue off and go over the area with a makeup pad with a pea size of product on. Excellent! |
