I tried a sample of the Effaclar Gel and really liked it. Anyone else use these products?
I am trying to find a new skin care line and need suggestions??? I have slightly dry, congested skin. Want to balance out quality and price. |

I have read in other threads that it's a GREAT line of products...when I went to see where it's available, sounds like it's only distributed through physicians?? |

I use La Roche Posay products too. In Canada, they can be found in drugstores, but at the prescription counter. I wish they had more products; just heard that they discontinued Effidrate. |

In my place, they are sold either by aesthetic clinic and pharmacy. There is a online store in France selling, can't remember the full address, it's something called beautycenter. Perhaps you can do some price check. |

I use the spf60 sunscren and it is fab, I live in the UK and i purchased mine from beauty centre europe. It is fab and i wear it under my foundation, it goes on beautifully it dosent leave that chalky white effect that most sunscreens leave.
I would highly reccommend it |

I have been getting the BioMedic glycolic peels and cryotherapy from the esthetician in a doc's office. She also gave me a sample of the BioMedic Extra-Rich Moisturizer for use in the few days right after the peel, and amazingly it didn't cause huge acne cysts like I thought it would for my problem skin. But I only used it till the peeling and inflammation stopped, it is way too rich for me as an everyday cream. |

Where can I get LRP samples - of the Effaclar line? Also, is it necessary to use the toner after the cleanser and a moisturizer? It says the cleanser tightens pores. This is for my husband and he hates layers on his clean skin. I suppose the toner would be fine but not sure needed. I was going to get the Effaclar K for his oiler thicker skinned nose. |

I used SPF 45 sunscreen last summer and was very happy with it. Will repurchase for this summer. |

You can get samples or full sizes on Ebay - I am addicted to Effaclar K (when my skin is happy and able to tolerate it - I tried something new and my skin has been too irritated to resume yet...). It made my pores smaller and also dramatically reduced breakouts for me .
I also tried Toleriane Fluid because a lot of people love it, but it irritated my skin. |

CVS drugstore took over Savon and carries this line. I plan to try a few things especially their sunscreens. I was buying the Anthellios out of the country previously. |

Rainbow...I had decided my next purchase would be this sunblock, think it's at 60% or something.
anyway, my ? is: do you experience any balling up of products when using this.
This has been my main concern with many products. I had no balling up with Skinceuticals Sport 45% but would prefer to buy La Roche Posay at my local drug store (so convenient) than have to order Skinceuticals.
TIA

These products are sold at my local drugstore (CVS) and i'm always tempted...they also sell them at Ulta. I have tried the Toleriane Fluid line but the cleanser did not take off my make up well enough so it was a no-go. I love the Toleriane Fluid moisturizer. Its light and gentle. |

arya2 ~ sorry pardon me for asking, i dont quite understand what you mean by "balling" up.
for myself, i dislike sunblock that gives a sticky or thick feel. i have tried quite a few different brands but none measure up to this. moreover lately i been having rather sensitive skin hence my derm recommend this to me. you can hear the liquid inside the bottle when you shake. |

I get facials about every seven weeks and my technician always recommends Anthelios Fluide Extreme SPF 40. I can get it from a local cosmetican surgeon's office and not have to pay shipping. I'm excited to try it! And I sure do wish I'd been using such a high SPF all along! |

Rainbow:
Balling up occurs when you apply a product, usally sunscreens in my case, & the products underneath start to crumble off in little balls or flakes. Apparently it's caused either by insufficient wait time before applying sunscreen (not the case with me) or an incompatibility between skin care products/makeup used & the sunscreen/block. There is a negative reaction that caused the sunscreen to essentially crumble off the skin taking god's knows what with it.
I don't wear foundation, only blush, but when this balling up occurs, I think it must be my lovely skin care products are falling off. I don't want this to happen of course so am wondering if you've experienced any such negative reaction w/ LaRoche-Posay sunblock.
Thanks |

Exactly (live in Ottawa) & it would be great if I could just pop down to local Shoppers to buy it but only if this stuff doesn't 'ball up'. Am tired of buying 'good' suncreens, only to have my other products flake off when I apply it.
Other posts to the forum seem to indicate that a block is better than a high SPF sunscreen so really hope this stuff doesn't repeat this cycle. |

arya2 ~ thanks for the explaination! i get what you mean now. and no, i dont get the "balling" effect. i always try to apply my skincare product after 1-2mins of one another. so that there will be some time inbetween for the products to be absorb into my skin.
and dont use foundation either, at most just loose powder and blush. so far, i have not experience the balling effect. |
