Does anyone else have the problem of breakouts on the neck? I would say my neck is normal to oily and a little sensitive. I always cleanse my neck when I wash my face twice a day but I'm still having a problem with blemishes here and there, plus general bumpiness and red marks left by old blemishes. Blemishes take forever to go away, I think I've had one for months. Perhaps I'm not removing my sunscreen well but sometimes I use oil to remove before cleansing. I don't know what else to do, try a clay mask maybe? |

I have some of the same problems, not a huge problem for me but they are there. I don't use sunscreen, so that is not my problem of not removing it, but I do cleanse it well and I still get them. Most people can not see them, but I can. When you feel my neck they are under the skin and they do take forever to go away. They don't really seem like blemishes to me, I have been putting cortisone on them and they dry up faster. Plus you can not cover them up with foundation. Luckily you can not see them very well. |

It's just a thought but if you have longer hair then it could also be your shampoo/conditioner that is the culprit. If you don't think that is a problem, I would suggest using a mild glycolic cleanser on your neck to help get rid of the bumpiness and prevent breakouts. If you want to speed things up then you could also use an AHA/BHA serum or product to clear things up - I recall Dermalogica Medicated Clearing gel was light and effective in that department (on my face). Thanks for your suggestions. Last night I decided to exfoliate and it helped a lot. I never thought of exfoliating my neck but it worked. The little bumps aren't really visible but I can feel them. Bergquis, it sounds like you have this too, they are under the skin - they come and go and do take a long time to go away but they always come back. The blemish I had left a red mark that is taking forever to fade. I had another one that finally faded so I guess it just takes time. I will continue to exfoliate weekly to see if it improves in the long run. |

I've always battled break-outs, and it seems like after I hit 30 (8 years ago), I started the break-outs on my neck. Don't know why or what changed, but it's been so frustrating. Because of where they are, I can't do much to them, so my esthetician helps me on them when I go for my facials. But I just don't understand why I've recently started to develop little blackheads and other congestion in the neck area. On top of that, my neck seems more sensitive than my face! What did you end up using to exfoliate the neck? |

I used the MAC volcanic ash exfoliator. My skin is not as nearly as sensitive as my face but my neck did get a little red after. The redness went away pretty fast. I now believe exfoliation is the key because my neck feels/looks so much better already just after one exfoliation. |

I used to have this problem too. However over time of treating it with asprin masks and changing moisturisers this hasn't been a problem since. I found it usually appeared in the summer more than the winter so i use a lighter moisurizer. |

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong also w/the aspirin mask. I used it twice on my face, and found that my face broke out pretty badly. I used only the aspirin, mixed it w/water, and made a paste. I typically have combo skin anyway, prone to breakouts, and it just made it worse. I'm really afraid to use it on my neck. |
