Has anyone used any Cosmelan products (cosmeland 1,2..etc.) with success? If so, what was your problem and which cosmelan product helped. I am interested in purchasing Cosmelan 2, but I would feel comfortable if someone whose using it or whose already used it reply before I buy this $180.00 bottle. Wink Thanks!

I've said it before and I'll say it again Laughing Cosmelan 2 was the ONLY product that helped fade melasma on my cheeks by about 80%. What's left now if easily covered by concealer (I use Burt's Bees -love it!).

I have very sensitive skin and I did not experience any bad reaction at all - like the peeling and irritation - I would say my that the skin is maybe more sensitive and was reddening easily - but then I started using Pro-Heal (IS Clinical) in the a.m. and that has really helped calm things down.

After everything else I tried - and the list is loonnnnngggg.......(mostly HQ products, which I now would never use), Cosmelan 2 saved the day.

Other women have found greater success by doing both the mask and then the C2 - however, I did not have a derm. in my area who even knew what C1 or 2 was, never mind apply the mask, so I just used the C2 cream.

I am still on my first jar - more than 5 months later - and now apply every other or every third night for maintenance. Yes, $180 is not cheap (I purchased my from Mesoestetic) but in my case, it was worth it.

If you visit skinrx.com on the melasma forum, you will find a whole group of wonderful ladies who can help you more. These women are terrific!

Hope that helps!

Hi 4 Tessa,

I also suffered melasma. I guess I had many factors working fot it: acne due to hormonal unbalance, pill and pregnancy.
I've always had a very strict on my skin health daily regime, clean, moisturize and nurture, everyday, twive a day. However no product seemed to make the difference I'd like it to. The ones containing acids help to texturize my skin. But at the end of the day it was oily and all the pores open.

Until I did the cosmelan mask, available in the pack. As maintenance, cosmelan 2 for 1 year and everytime I'm at the sun. A good sunscreen, of corse.
Green apple peel is the one you see in cosmopolitan,vogue,... But cosmelan is the one you see in medical leaflets.

I didn't have to burn myself in a tca peel, or (that's what I was more afraid of)make my melasma worse or end up with burnt scars or spots from these harsh tca peels. I've seen recently a photo from a girl that did a tca peel. But she was burnt so badly on the cheeks, that afterwards they turned completely dark brown.
I'm more for a treatment that requires time than one that burns your skin in 1 day and forces it to renew after a burn. I believe more in a treatment that takes a year to make disappear spots that have been there forever. Than one that you just do a peel one day and then it will be over. Maybe we shouldn't want everything so sudden.
My opinion is that skin needs time to some to respond and recover, renew... you know...

I have been using Cosmelan now for 3 weeks (two # 1 masks, and the daily #2 twice a day). I have seen a dramatic improvement in my melasma to the point where I could say it's almost gone. It was very expensive and do not wish to pay this money again for the # 1 mask, but I'm thinking how effective is the # 2 mask on it's own for maintenance, and how long would I have to use the # 2 ? Also, if my melasma should reappear, would I still have to do the # 1 masks again or can I just buy the # 2?
