Last Friday I rolled DermaRoller 1.5. Then applied 'Let's make collagen' serum, then Retin-A 0.05%. Surprisingly, my skin wasn't red on Saturday. So, on Sunday I rolled 0.5 mm DermaRoller and applied same products.
Then on Monday I've got Baby Quasar and used it on same day. On Tuesday I paid attention that my skin is flaking. Yesterday I repeated Baby Q treatment and today my face not just flaking, but I'm removing big sheets of skin from face like after bad sunburn. It's gross. Especially when I'm at work and wear foundation.
Also I noticed that my skin look irritated.
Any suggestions what in my manipulations done wrong?
TIA |

Whoa!!! Major exfoliation!!
Retin-A AND Dermaroller??? Is this the first and second times you did that, or have you been doing it for a while???
Did you just recently add something new?
Honey, you've scalded yourself like a hound! Give it a rest for a long time...... |

I'm new with DermaRoller actually . Using it just for few weeks. This week I've added Baby Quasar.
OMG, I've got impression from DermaRoller huge post that Retin A is exactly what I need after rolling .
Ok, I'm stopping rolling for a while then. |

It sounds like that you may have overdone it. Let your skin have some down time to heal. Once healed, you will look better than before. |

Yup - been there - overdo - I find if I back off on everything and go back to basics for a week it will settle down - maybe that will help? |

That's what I did - only basics for now.
Thanks for the help, girls! |

Do these products actually work? They seem a bit extreme? Don't you think? All the peeling and redness? Is it really worth it? |

I would start with only 1 new product at a time. Use that for a week and then introduce another.
Your skin needs to adjust |

If you are rolling with a 1.5mm, you do not want to go again with ANY needles for at least a week....too much irritation is not a good thing.
Some people can use Retin-A after rolling, and some people can't (like me).
I would suggest dialing back on everything for the next 2 weeks until things calm down...you can continue to use the Baby Q which will help with inflammation, but only use it every other day, and do not use it for longer than recommended. |
