Found this description on a website...

'Milia are small, white, sometimes pale yellow, spots that usually appear around the eyes, on the cheeks, and on the eyelids. Nobody really understands why they appear or, why some people get them whilst others don't. They are a type of cyst filled with a substance called keratin, a protein that provides strength to the skin. Milia don't appear to be related to different lifestyles or diets, and are certainly not infectious or caused by poor hygiene.
Apart from making people worry about their appearance, these spots are not harmful and do not need to be treated in any way.'

The usual cause of milia around the eyes is due to using heavy creams or eye shadow on such a delicate area.
Some people have milia extracted by a dermatologist. Not sure what they do exactly though. Probably involves a sharp needle. Shock
I've read that milia in this area are quite difficult to eradicate, even for a professional.

Some creams can help with the problem. Couldn't name any though. Mabsy is the eye cream expert (among other skincare areas!) on this forum. Very Happy

my mom gets these things all over her face...can't seem to get rid of them. I'm going to make her go for facials.

I had one once on my cheek...popped it with a sharp needle. Just don't be stupid and poke your eye out!!

Yeah, these are annoying and are generally caused by creams that are too rich for the eye area. You can get them extracted by a beautician but you can also use exfoliating products although that will obviously take longer. MD Formulations Vit-a-Plus Eye Cream and MD Forte (can't remember which one but I'd know it if I saw it) both make eye creams that have a bit of Glycolic acid in them. They are supposed to be good for getting rid of millia. Of course, if you have sensitive skin, then these creams are probably not the best idea.

For the face my solution is pretty much the same, the little lumps are a sign of congestion. The fastest way that I ever got rid of the little lumps on my forehead was to use MD Formulations. I got one of those starter kits and also the Clearing Complex and Clearing Complex masque.

Thanks for all the info. Now I know what to look for. I don't think I have any yet but I'll have to check in the magnifying mirror...it always tells the truth...unfortunately. Shock Speaking of shock, I took Winnie's advice and took some "before" pictures to compare with pictures after using the AD which I just ordered. OMG, my sallow coloring, dark circles, no makeup, good light...yuck! My husband must really love me because he thinks I look beautiful when I first wake up. Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Laughing Laughing Too funny....my husband says the same thing after 39 years! They say love is blind. Just maybe he tell me that so I calm down on the spending. Wink

i think men's eyesight just goes as they get old and they can't tell the difference. haha.

My dad has never once commented on anything to do with my moms looks, then one night he announces in front of their friends that she had just gotten her hair done and oh my god look, there's black roots. Laughing
